How does Live differentiate between MIDI devices with same name?
How does Live differentiate between MIDI devices with same name? I've noticed that if I plug in multiple devices then it will call them Synth , Synth #2 , Synth #3 where Live is adding the #2 and #3 suffixes to help the user pick the right one. That's very useful but it fails for some other MIDI ...

Is there an easy way to reduce midi cc once they are recorded? I have some that I would like to thin (quantize in time) a bit to reduce the load on a particular midi device that can't process a high rate.

This feature would have been useful for me a few days ago when I was transferring a small amount of sheet music to Live. It would have made it easier to enter and verify the two were identical.

When does Live use running status feature for MIDI?
I was looking at the raw midi data output from Live (Lite 10.06) over USB and I've noticed it doesn't always send the MIDI status code. Does anyone know when it decides to omit it? Most of the time it sends it but during a pitch bend with perhaps 100 messages I see a few missing the 0xe0 status ...
