I was looking at the raw midi data output from Live (Lite 10.06) over USB and I've noticed it doesn't always send the MIDI status code. Does anyone know when it decides to omit it? Most of the time it sends it but during a pitch bend with perhaps 100 messages I see a few missing the 0xe0 status bytes.
In this case the MIDI Is playing from an imported MIDI file but it would be odd for the contents of that file to influence when Ableton uses running status.
Another possibility which is looking increasingly likely is that the software receiving this is being overwhelmed during the pitch bend and dropping bytes!
