Re: Layered synths - Multi vs. Single track setup

I think I'm going to go back to layering my synths in the racks instead of different tracks. I had ZERO noticeable CPU drop when splitting the layers over different tracks. The hassle that comes with it is not worth it...

Thanks again for the information

The only solution for macro controls for multiple tracks I can think of, is routing the VSTs to one group and use effects there.
I came across a few threads that talk about a "free" solution called MACROBAT. I can't find any FREE MACROBATS anywhere, just the ClyphX Pro that costs a lot...

Re: Layered synths - Multi vs. Single track setup

Thanks for the information...

This is what I feared. Having multiple MIDI clips really messed with my workflow. Any way of using ONE midi clip to run two or more tracks?

Layered synths - Multi vs. Single track setup

Hi, I like layering VST synths to achieve the desired sound. Question : Which uses the least resources - setting each synth up in its own track or layering them in an instrument rack? I read somewhere that the CPU threading work more efficient if each synth is in its own track. Could this be a signi...

MODWHEEL inactive on VSTi

Hi, So in my current project, I use the VST synth DUNE. The presets reply heavily on the MODWHEEL. But in my current project, the modwheel has no effect on the synth. If I load the synth into a new project, the modwheel works perfeclty with each patch. What setting in my current project is disabling...

WAV dithering options, explained please

Hi,

Could someone please explain the dithering options on the WAV export? Is it best to use the one furthest down the list for best results?

Enable VST by selecting certain output

Hi, So I have a headphone calibration VST in my master. When I use headphones I use output channels 3/4. But my speakers is in channels 1/2. Is it possible to setup a macro of some sorts that enables/disables this VST when I change my sound output? Reason I'm asking, I tend to forget about the VST a...

Is it VST2 or VST3?

Hi,

Is there a quick way to see whether I've got the VST2 or the VST3 version of a 3rd party plugin in the device chain?

Transfer Ableton favourites and folders

Hi,

I want to do a fresh install of my PC and all my VSTs. Is there a way to backup my Ableton favourite folders and favourites and transfer it to the new 10.1 when it gets released?

Re: High Latency VSTs

If you hover the mouse pointer over the device’s title bar in the bottom window it should tell you how much latency the plugin is causing. If you use Waves plugins their website tells you what the plugin induced latencies are - unfortunately most plugin makers aren’t so helpful. As I understand thi...

High Latency VSTs

Hi, So this morning I added two Fabfilter Pro-Q3 EQs to two channels respectively and used the Linear phase setting. As expected, my project's MIDI latency shot through the roof, but after turning them off, or even removing them, I still had the same terrible latency. Only saving the project with th...
