oh.. haha thanks i found it.. damn.. i knew it was something dumb like that.

it dont let me.. when i got my audio track on record, and i go to get my midi track on record, it turns the audio track off and just switches to the midi

im sure im overlooking something really dumb here.. im kinda new with this...

maybe im dumb here.. but.. i want to record a midi track and a audio track at the same time..

i am doing a small vid where im playing the trigger finger and rapping at the same time, and i am just experimenting with it.. i want it to bring in the audio and the trigger finger, which im using with ...

oh i've been using it for about a year.. i was just curious to see what other people are doing with it, and how they are going about it..

im loving it.. and i agree, NI stuff is prettty cool.. i use their synths etc, but for beats and drums etc i use fxpansions GURU and a m-audio trigger finger..

look through any local record bins.. i found a ton of gems at a store i thought was only gonna have crap.. some really good traditional hebrew songs and stuff, and choral stuff from the 50's... turned it into some really sweet hip hop samples.

i dont mean to toot anyones horn here but... man i love this stuff.

what kind of plug-ins etc are you guys using? and what kind of projects are you using it for? im curious to see what other people are doing with it.


currently im using it mainly for hip hop, and I use "GURU" for most of my stuff ...

thanks.. thats a lot of great info.. i've pretty much been hearing 2 things... 1, that the sm58 is supposedly not so hot for recording in some peoples opinions, and is better for live use... (after playing around with it.. i can compare and hear my m-audio is a lot clearer, crisp and natural ...

i'm connecting it using a m-audio fasttrack pro..

really, i just wanted something that was more directional, not picking up annoying background noise.. and just a phsychological comfort, of holding the mic while flowin.. seems to just, be easier to put more energy in it for me..

i do like the EQ in ableton.. and it works great for sounds/loops/instruments.. but for vocals, the presets are kind.. not so hot for what i want, and im kind too dumb to ...

i just brought one home today.. i was using a m-audio nova, but i was annoyed at how it picked up sounds of my roomates etc through the walls cause it was so sensitive...

anyhoo, i wanted something i could hold and be ruff with... but its so bassy when i just plug it stright through...

I just bought a sm58.. I have a m-audio nova, but my only complaint was it picked up a lot of background noise, u could hear my roomates through the walls in the slow points while i was rapping, so i got a sm58, as i kept hearing how, "industry standard for vocals" it is...
