Appreciate the desire to help but when I said it makes absolutely no difference what interface I use, I meant it. It's a Windows issue, it's not an Ableton or interface issue. That's why I asked, "Has anyone else experienced this issue?" If you had this problem, you'd know it.

I had the same problem, out of nowhere Ableton started taking a very long time to load. Very long. And then playback eventually got so bad it was completely unusable. I tried some of the recommendations on the forums but nothing worked. So I uninstalled everything and deactivated all my licenses etc ...

That's probably the installer file.

The actual plugins will end in the extension .dll for VST 2 plugins and end in .vst3 for VST 3 plugins.

You need to figure out where the plugins are installed and re link the folder.

Also check the Common Files folder or look for a Steinberg folder, sometimes they get put in there.

A relatively new PC, a Dell Aurora R9 tower. An Audient id14 interface. I've had repeated issues with getting the audio routed correctly. It's definitely worked many times but often it doesn't work. Can anyone see what's wrong here?
