I am using the right mouse button all the time with Ableton Live. I even use 3 buttons.
Left button is usual click, right button is Alt click, and middle button is Shift click. If I needed it differently I'd just re-assign the buttons. On a Mac that is. Scroll wheel support would be nice though, as ...

why not automate a volume curve of one clip to start on the required "upbeat", and then a follow action to launch the full clip.

No need for drawing volume curves on anything as far as I can see.

And every clip parameter that could by the nature of it in any way be set in an offset manner, should be enabled to be set like this when it is part of a multiple selection!

Just like with "Sequence Parameters" in Logic...

How would you think those other format markers should translate into warp markers? They mark totaly different things...


And Re: your assistant batch preparing files...

Let him use Live itself for it:
Let him enable "Create Analysis Files" in the Preferences.
Let him create a huge number of scenes ...

What is the reasoning behind having to press SHIFT as well as click to place the playhead

I suppose too many people complained about accidentaly placing the playhead when all they wanted to do was zooming.

Another reason could be to save screenspace.

In Live4 press Shift and click where you were used to click in Live3.
