Re: how to make midi keys monophonic?
Bumping this because I tried the suggested M4L plugin and discovered it is defective. It loses its settings when the set is opened / reloaded. Asking again to see if anyone has a solution to this, it's killing me.

Re: How to use "Select Next Scene" with Launchkey
I'm writing back and bumping this original post to urge people not to use the solution above. I'm not exactly sure what heuristics Ableton uses to decide what values to attach to each scene, but these can change even though you've never added or removed any scenes. So if you follow the steps above t...

Re: Best way to get post-fader sends for tracks & instrument rack
LOL after literally days struggling to figure out a way to use the External Effect send to do this (seemed the only way to create sends in an Instrument Rack) I learned the correct (if confusing) solution from here: https://www.reddit.com/r/ableton/comments/7wnju0/send_audio_to_the_return_tracks_fro...

Best way to get post-fader sends for tracks & instrument rack
Hi all, still learning Ableton and I have a routing dilemma. My projects are set up simply: Track 1 contains an Instrument rack that contains the instruments that I'm playing live (bass, keys, etc) Tracks 2+ contain my backing track sequences (ie. drums and guitar) What I need to do is route everyth...

Re: How to use "Select Next Scene" with Launchkey
EDIT: DO NOT USE THIS, SEE BELOW I've solved my problem, I figured I'd post a reply so that maybe someone else might find it useful. The trick is pretty cumbersome, and it would be a lot better if the "Select Next Scene" feature "just worked" but since it doesn't, here's the wor...

M4L filter / remap Launchkey transport controls
I'm looking for a way to disable the Launchkey "Stop" button on the transport controls. Can this be done with M4L or some other way? TIA

Simple MIDI CC filter
This seems like the simplest thing and I'm completely stumped how to achieve it. I've got an instrument rack with a couple of layered instruments, one is a bass, the other a piano. I want to filter out the MIDI CC of the sustain pedal on the bass, but not the piano, so that the piano notes sustain, ...

Re: How to use "Select Next Scene" with Launchkey
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately this doesn't address my issue, unless I'm missing something. In my preferences, I've already selected "Select Next Scene on Launch." The problem is, that only works if the scene is launched by pressing the [ENTER] key on the computer keyboard. It doesn't...

Re: How to use "Select Next Scene" with Launchkey
[BUMP] Does anyone have a best practice for using Launchkey in conjunction with "Select Next Scene"? As it stands now, I have to hit two buttons ("Scene Down" then "Launch Scene") on the Launchkey, which is one too many. I'd like the next scene to auto-select, then I wo...

How to use "Select Next Scene" with Launchkey
I've arranged my scenes as I need them for live performance. I want to use the "Select Next Scene" feature to help automate my live workflow. This works fine if I use the keyboard [ENTER] key to start my sequence, but it doesn't work if I am using the Launchkey to start the sequence. Has a...

Re: How to automatically change track on scene change
Thanks! This was the clue I needed. I had already switched to using Racks, but still couldn't figure out how to do the automation I needed. If anyone else is following along, this was also helpful. https://help.ableton.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000727359-How-to-switch-chains-in-a-Rack-using-the-chain...

How to automatically change track on scene change
I would like for the track focus switch to a different track automatically when I change scenes, so that when the scene changes, I'm automatically playing a different instrument / track. Is there a way to do this? TIA.
