how to make midi keys monophonic?

is there a live plug that can make incoming midi notes monophonic? for example, you would not be able to play the keys C3 and E3 at the same time, instead only the most recent midi note would signal through.

i'm asking because sometimes when i'm auditioning through presets, i only want to know how they would sound in the monophonic retrigger mode, but i have to manually change it within the instrument each time a new preset is loaded.

how is it being lazy? basically every single instrument plugin lets you choose how incoming midi notes are processed (polyphonic, retrigger, legato, duophonic, etc). it's a simple operation that is widely used.

also, if you want to load a collection of samples into drum racks, there is no way to make them play monophonic without changing the choke group for each sample individually. this would be easy to do in sampler by lowering the number of voices to 1 in the global settings, but sampler is unable to map each sample to an individual key which i still don't understand why this isn't an option after all these versions.

This plugin enables monophony mode and it allow you to choose note priority, legato, etc. Simple and does its job well.

Bumping this because I tried the suggested M4L plugin and discovered it is defective. It loses its settings when the set is opened / reloaded. Asking again to see if anyone has a solution to this, it's killing me.
