I ordered a Push 3 Controller version 4 weeks ago. Since then, I check my order status regularly and it still says 6 to 8 weeks. I wonder if this is due to a production bottleneck.


production, region (as ableton itself mentions), and sometimes it seems 'glitches'... that orders aren't processed ...

I think it's both a calibration issue and practice issue,

there should be perhaps a longer delay on the pressure sensitivity data
'cause afaik the push uses the same sensors for velocity and pressure.

So the moment you hit a pad it should instantly send velocity information and then after some ...

i think it mostly muscle memory that i must build up, and find the best sensitivity settings (and maybe use curves; MPE control)

you want fist velocity and not almost the same pressure amount, at first strike.

i can achieve it, but not in a stable way ...

when you have this problem, that it not always responds when you click the jogwheel to the right or left, it must react even little force.

i had the same problem, i have now a replacement. it is assemblage issue.

one switch... but it kills the workflow, and of course you want a perfect unit.

in my case the jog wheel has a problem....;

when clicking to the right, the click lower in sound (the switch you can hear), and responses with little force, or almost none.

but when clicking to the left; you hear the click harder, and must use more force.

I haven't received mine yet either, but based on the information available, it seems that only Slide, Glide, and Pressure are supported. Unfortunately, Ableton doesn't seem to like MPE Release velocity. This feature is not present on any of their devices.


indeed, an oversight. also in their own ...

i don't have my Push 3 yet, but i don't see nothing about Release Velocity, very unknown, apparently, its Midi 1.x spec, it is also called in the MPE world 'Lift', great for well, you name it.

but does send the Push 3 the Release Velocity, one of the 5 dimensions of MPE?

As I said, P1 and P2 will keep on being supported as long as possible.

well Push 1 still works of course, but of for example the new Drift Device, for Push 2 there is even visual feedback.

but will be Push 1 also be mapped for the Drift Device, nothing in the release notes. don't have a push 1, i have a 2....

as the title states, will the Push 2 get still support, i.e. updates, like in 11.3, for devices, etc. etc. as normal next to Push 3?

i am falling for the Push 3, as a MPE addict, but have of course MPE controllers, but what the Push 3 brings to table i like, except, the Y dimension, slide, can't ...

it is question someone asked at KVR, i can't confirm fully, no time to test, and vst3 plugins that use oversampling; effects, i don't have may, only Melda, and those work, but use another framework. it seems to be JUCE related? see this;

how you manage your programs, your files, is up to the user, to some point of course, the limitations (especially; preset location, but that is another topic) are there ...

My workaround:
I've copied the VST2s into Ableton's VST2 folder. Additional consumption of drive space and more maintenance work if these VST2 are updated.

Nevertheless VST2 is dead anyway:
