it is question someone asked at KVR, i can't confirm fully, no time to test, and vst3 plugins that use oversampling; effects, i don't have may, only Melda, and those work, but use another framework. it seems to be JUCE related? see this;
https://forum.juce.com/t/ableton-vst3-i ... -set/46912
so for certain VST3 (it doesn't seem to be a problem with VST2 plugins) plugins, the offline oversampling setting isn't used. which can lead to unwanted results, of course. or wanted..
but if don't want artifacts, and you set the plugin in online, not at oversampling, for cpu load purposes, but you choose; render at some oversampling setting, there may be a problem.
someone that notices this? or someone from ableton can confirm this?
VST3 & Rendering; no offline oversampling?
Re: VST3 & Rendering; no offline oversampling?
OP's post is a bit hard to read, but yeah... it looks offline processing (rendering) of VST3 plugins in Live doesn't work as it should.
An easy way to test this is with Voxengo TubeAmp, using the "auto" oversampling feature. With the VST2 version the "auto" setting kicks in when rendering, but with the VST3 version it doesn't.

Can anyone say if this affect freezing of tracks too or just render / export?
