Re: Ableton live support for ARA 2

if there's a 12.5, there's only one thing I can think of that's more exciting than extensions...getting ARA or a proprietary pitch editor would make me a very happy boy.

right clicking and clicking open in new tab works
You know you can also middle-click, right?
ha, I did NOT know that--thanks for the tip!

(I still think links opening in a separate tab should be the default behavior, but this is super-handy)

Re: Live Amp Modeler integrates NAM with Ableton Live

nice! been thinking about how terrible the stock amp modeling stuff is for actual guitar in Ableton. what is NAM exactly? I mean, I get that it stands for neural amp modeling, but what's different about NAM vs. traditional amp and cab modeling?

definitely going to give this a good look, especially ...

Re: THIS FORUM’S FUTURE: what do you want to see? 🔥

another suggestion (that I'm sure others have already made) would be to open links in new tabs instead of in the existing tab. usually if I want to click something someone posts, I still want to be able to access the post. right clicking and clicking open in new tab works, but only if I remember it ...

Re: The Extensions SDK beta is alive!

I feel like this is going to be huge. there are all sorts of cool workflow use cases for this. for one, I hate having to use a (now broken) m4l device to color tracks. seems like this should allow me to handle that with an extension.

one of the vids I saw was about how helpful this will be for ...

Re: THIS FORUM’S FUTURE: what do you want to see? 🔥

one thing that would be nice would be to not lock announcement posts.

You're welcome opening an Extensions SDK thread.
I think, historically users have always created threads following announcements because they're sometimes faster than us 😅
That's probably why we got used to lock our posts ...

Re: THIS FORUM’S FUTURE: what do you want to see? 🔥

one thing that would be nice would be to not lock announcement posts. it’s the kind of thing that gets people engaged, but locking the post means if people want to actually discuss it they have to start a separate thread for it, rather than just commenting on the announcement.

just moderate them ...

Re: Sticky Notes or Notes like you can leave in PDF documents would be pretty handy for me.

info view is one of my favorite non-music features in Ableton. it's great to save stuff like the guitar I used, and pickup/tone settings, or notes to collaborators. the thing is brilliant.

that elphnt one seems like a bit of a cash grab. can't believe someone is charging $10 for something that ...

Re: A Three-Year Journey from Ableton Live to Bitwig Studio

tried Bitwig, and found it to be quite meh. it looks nice, but doesn't do anything really substantially better than any other DAW, in my opinion. then again, I am not using a DAW for live performance, so maybe I'm missing something. that said, there's got to be a pretty good reason Ableton remains ...

what do we want to see? not to be a downer, but how about some actual change?

this thread's been around for 8 months, and the site is worse now than it was then. takes forever to load a page half the time, now, and no improvements of note. 😢

Re: Recommended male vocal chain

if you're trying to get your vocals to feel like they're sitting within a different fully-mixed track, that's not going to be easy... most likely, the reason your vocals don't seem to gel is because you're using completely different processing than the song you're trying to sing on top of.

think of ...

Re: Something for the Guitar/Bass players..

I have a ton of other options by now, but yeah, please...some solid amp/cab modeling in the Ableton ecosystem would be fantastic. I think this is probably the same Softube stuff they put into Reason (or very similar) a bunch of years ago. I was really surprised at how shoddy these models sound ...

Re: New Ableton Softube Devices

I’ve only used them a little, but they sound great. the biggest standout for me so far is the delay—it’s easier to get good results than the stock delays imo. the controls are very intuitive, to me, where I think the stock delays are kinda difficult to work with. and of course it sounds fantastic ...

Re: Tips for user coming from Cubase

- in Cubase you can make a track inactive, so it stays in the project but doesnt use any CPU at all (it keeps all its settings and plugins and you can just make it active again if you need it). Is there a way to do something similar in Ableton?

Nope. You have to do it manually by turning off ...
