My request would be to enable a "MASTER GROOVE". One groove affecting all midi.
Of course one can choose a groove, select all the clips and put it on everything. A master groove though would be pretty straightforward and convenient.

Does Ableton work fine on a large ratio, 21:9 or even 32:9 wide gaming monitor?
It would have a lot of space for clips on arrangement view and tracks on session view, being pretty convenient.

I'm not into gaming so I haven't ...

Issue occurred on 11.3.4 about CAPTURE

after playing some notes, when I try to push the capture button on session view, in order to have the captured MIDI in a clip, the software crashes.
It often occurs, I'd say 1/3 of times I push the capture key on the top.

Of course, I submitted the bug file ...

3dB is definitely one I've always wanted as well. I like the sound of EQ8 a lot, but you need to be careful sometimes if you want subtle.


There's another issue IMHO, about subtlety

The scaling is too wide, and you are led to boost cut higher / lower than necessary.
a 4db of boost/cut is a lot ...

I feel the lack of a shallower one, such as a 6 DB or even 3 DB.

It would be useful to roll off excessive bass or highs more gently

Besides the complex pro algorithm, the tuner device can recognize pitches.

I guess it would be straightforward to gather what already is there in one (essential) device.

You can currently workaround like this

Select and cut all the effects
Freeze
Make a group with solely the freezed track
Paste all the effects into the group

I humbly suggest some easy (I hope) features that may improve the workflow in Clip view

1) a simple command NORMALIZE that automatically raises up the gain until the highest peak of the clip reaches 0. It Would be useful to show the clippings with a vertical red line, when the gain slider is raised ...

The soft clipping on the right makes s big difference

You likely hit the soft clipping wall, slightly, with the first one, then the second simply rises up the volume.

If you crank up the drive higher, you simply "soft clip harder" creating more saturation, that may be excellent in single track ...

It's all about the budget you can afford... Can you tell us more?

Indeed, consider a gaming laptop, even if you aren't a gamer. They usually have powerful CPU as well as at least 16 GB ram.
They are usually easy to upgrade by yourself, supporting more RAM or bigger HD

It's just a one finger chord stuff

Take MIDI chord device and set a chord among

+3; +7; +10; +14
+5; +7; +10; +14
+7; +16; +9; +18
+2; +4; +9
+4; +11; +14

Those are jazzy chords. Feel free to +12/-12 any pitch for position variation

The only way at the moment is

Open an empty set
Map the keys as you wish
Make that set a "default set"

So as every time you open a new set your settings are ready.

You can't save mapping only and drag them into another set though...

(And it's a pity as it would be very handy)

You can easily achieve that by automating the pitch inside the audio clip, with the clip automation (just don't use Beats algorithm, it doesn't make you audition any pitch bending effect)
