Expander option in the Ableton Live Gate?

Please can someone explain why there is no expander option in the Ableton Live Gate?

Yeah, the compressor can do upward expansion (not very useful for me ATM), but the Gate has no ratio, so can't do essential downward expansion WTAF? (Yes I know the multi-band compressor can do it, but I need single band!)

Apologies if this has been covered before - I tend to use Pro Tools for typical audio production stuff, but a decent downward expander would be properly useful in Ableton. I have looked for some decent free ones (or inexpensive) for mac, but cannot find anything - any recommendations?

After some tinkering around I have discovered that the Apple AUDynamicsProcessor plugin is pretty good at first glance - for win users apparently the floorfish vst is good too...

If anyone can enlighten / expand on this please let me know.

Multiband Dynamics can run as full band if you disable the high and low bands

You can disable two bands and multiband dynamics becomes a single band, exactly the way you wish
