Yep this is stupid. I've been waiting for a solution to this from Ableton for years.
And no, p2d or such that claim to make it work are not a real solution, they just kill the push display process and then steal it, which crashes Live 30% of the time. Just no.

I think this would be really useful. In addition basic utilities like oscilloscope on the push display are a no-brainer, and I don't understand why they have not yet been done officially. You can use some 3rd party solutions to view your own stuff on the display (and switch between them and Live ...

Finally a solution!!! In my case the arrangement playhead was on some odd beat which caused these problems. I had arrangement loop activated too but it wasn't even playing inside it but still caused session clips to start at weird places.

Apparently it was already thought of in 2002 viewtopic.php?t=1025 and never implemented
I guess it's never coming?

Here someone got another idea, take the monitoring track as input to a second channel and record there, then you don't need a group. Still kind of weird.

Record/play clips in another audio track which input is set to your "monitor in" track.
What if you want to first hear a monitored input with Ableton effects and then record it? As a workaround you can make it a group, add the effects to the group and have both the monitoring and the recording ...
