Can someone explain the routing approach to this 'amount' knob? I get it changes ratio, but its also doing something else.. Possibly moving the thresholds higher? The output overall seems to only work when the amount knob is higher? What exactly is this amount knob doing! Thanks!

Might have something to do with the newer algorithm and the relative attack time. Have you tried tweaking the attack when you use the upgraded compressor? Yours is set super fast.
