Re: Shifting a clip to compensate latency
FYI, the image link is broken. (I don't know how important the image is to explaining the problem, but just thought I'd mention it.)

Splice preview enhancements
I know Centercode is the place for feature requests. I have an account there, but I'm not sure if you can post feature requests there without actually being part of the beta-testing program, which I'm not currently. Anyway, in the meantime this forum at least offers an outlet :)

Splice integration 'preview' feature
I'm wondering about the same thing as this person:

As nice as the new Splice integration is, in some ways it actually seem less useful than the previous admittedly clunky and inconvenient Splice Bridge ...

Re: Metering on main outputs while mixing individual tracks
I still haven't been able to get the metering plugin on the main outs and an individual track dynamics plugin to display at the same time. As far as I can see Live does not allow you display plugins from different channels simultaneously - am I wrong about that or missing something?
You should ...

Re: Start midi loop recording simultaneously with first sound
I don't know if there's built-in support for this. If so, I'm not finding it. There's some discussion here on the same topic:
https://www.reddit.com/r/ableton/comments/hxvpv3/start_recording_when_key_pressed/
I see some mention of M4L there, so there may be third-party solutions if there's ...

Re: Investigating Ableton’s Sluggish UI: Tests, Findings, and Fixes
The issue is this isn't a universal problem.
I wasn't making an argument one way or another. I was just pointing out that it may not only happen during playback. (Also, even if it only happens for some people and not others, that doesn't mean it's not an issue.)
In any case, I just saw that the ...

Re: Investigating Ableton’s Sluggish UI: Tests, Findings, and Fixes
The obvious way around it is to stop Live, do your work, then play again. It's how all of us had to work 20 years ago in any DAW that wasn't Live regardless of where the CPU was, it would cause crashes or hangs for far more than 3 seconds etc.

Re: Unable to move tracks or re-order their position
This thread is a few days old now - did you solve this problem? If not, here are a couple questions:
- Does it happen in new sets with nothing but a few empty tracks?
- If you click on a track header and drag, do you get the horizontal bar that shows where the track will be placed when released ...

Re: THIS FORUM’S FUTURE: what do you want to see? 🔥
+1 for image hosting. There are forums where you can just upload images directly and include them in posts, which is super convenient. And even though the forum obviously isn't an official source of tech support, participation from people involved with Ableton is always nice, and can provide ...

Re: Valhalla VST Macro Mapping Bug
Just posting to add my experience to the thread. As of September 2025 I'm still seeing the behaviors described here with Valhalla plugins (some of them at least, including Room). In particular:

Re: Ableton adding in automation points at start/finish when moving the data
For anyone who cares, I played around with this a bit more, and it seems not to be related to the type of automation, but rather to how the automation was created - it seems to require a particular sequence of automation edits in order for it to occur. As such, my guess is that if it's an ...

Re: Ableton adding in automation points at start/finish when moving the data
Irrespective of whether there are issues with the behavior (there may not be), you're misunderstanding. There's no confusion about what locking does, and it's tangential to the discussion.
As for this:
It adds automation points to preserve the shapes before and after the selection you dragged ...

Re: Ableton adding in automation points at start/finish when moving the data
Obviously there was never an answer to this, and presumably this isn't something that causes people much trouble. But, I've encountered it as well. It appears that dragging a clip will (in some cases at least) not only move its associated automation points (assuming automation isn't locked), but ...

Re: Implement Velocity Sensitivity the correct way in Simpler/Sampler
Just chiming in to say that I've also noticed the Simpler behavior described in the original post, and that it seems incorrect to me. In this case 'incorrect' may be somewhat subjective, but it seems obvious that the volume should be consistent for max velocity values (127) regardless of the ...
