Re: THIS FORUM’S FUTURE: what do you want to see? 🔥
Yes, the forum is much too slow. On some devices, it's a joke. But maybe that's for the best, since it's not good to spend too much time on sites that just theorize instead of doing something or reading the manual

Re: Win 10 support is ending. Linux market share is up. Please can we get a Linux version?
This topic has already been discussed at length here. Linux has a market share of approximately 4% in the desktop sector. Yes, I know that it dominates smartphones, web servers, and IoT devices.

Re: MIDI CHannel Filter
Hi, I've the same problem with Battalion from Unfiltered Audio.
I started a thread about it here:

I haven't been able to control the transport of the instrument's own sequencer with MIDI notes on channel 10, as described in the phantasy manual.

Playback control in drum instrument Battalion (Unfiltered Audio)
Unfortunately, MIDI data cannot be exported from Battalion's internal sequencer. However, it is theoretically possible to control the playback of the internal sequencer (play/stop) with MIDI notes on channel 10. The manual says:
"CHANNEL 10 controls the playback transport and mixer toggles.

How I would do it:
Save the crash report and analyze it to find the reason why Live crashed.
If you use Windows, you can find the corresponding tool here:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/debugger/
Here is a quick guide on how to carry out the evaluation: https://www ...

Re: Mixing and Mastering
If your drums sound too robotic, you should humanize them. This means that you shouldn't quantize them too much or not at all.

Re: xFAT bad for music production?
I think it's nonsense to format a Windows computer with exFAT, this also applies to your external drive, which apparently should only ever be used under Windows.

Re: Ableton Live 12 Windows 11 notebook hardware recommendations
This topic has already been discussed many times here in the forum.
In principle, yes, you need a lot of single-core power and multiple times. You can never have enough RAM. An SSD or several of them is a must. And if you're buying new, you shouldn't skimp on storage space either.

This reads like a problem with the screen resolution. You can try the following. Right-click in the browser (left side) on the corresponding plugin and switch the display settings (can also be reset). Restart the plugin.

Re: Link/alias midi clips? Any workarounds?
You can create your notes in a midi track. You can also route the midi signal of this track to any number of other tracks in order to use these notes there. To do this, you set where your midi notes should come from in the target track.

Re: Copyright Claim for a YouTube track.
I am of the opinion that a demo track is subject to copyright in any case. That is in the nature of things and is obvious - if you think about it. Anyone could publish the demo tracks and claim them for themselves. Would that work? I don't think so.

Re: Live : Bigger CPU Load with a better computer
Because the M4 pro (depending on the variant) has fewer performance cores than the m1 pro. And Ableton Live, like many other DAWs, only uses the performance cores.
And these marketing benchmarks should be taken with a grain of salt.

Re: Sudden Latency Issues
You should definitely use the ASIO drivers from the audio interface manufacturer: Focusrite ASIO. Anything else will not work satisfactorily in terms of latency.
The settings for this ASIO driver must first be made in the manufacturer's software (Focusrite): Sample rate and buffer size.

Re: Sudden Latency Issues
The keyword here is: audio latency. THE main problem when making music with a computer.
You need an audio interface with an ASIO driver that gives you low latency. The decisive factors here are properly programmed drivers, good driver support and a suitable computer.
