Re: Option to load last project automatically
At least on Windows, a workaround is to directly open to project file in the explorer or via a link on your Desktop.

Re: Beat tracking for MIDI and audio
Melodyne offers nice ways to edit the tempo that would be cool to have in Live's clip view and arrangement view. Adapting the length of the bars makes it easier to grasp visually how this influences the playback.

Re: THIS FORUM’S FUTURE: what do you want to see? 🔥
I really like the functionality of Obsidian's forum:

The main thing I'm missing here is to just drag an image into the text.
I'm also interested in the life cycle and state of feature requests. Perhaps the forum could be a place to refine or vote for features. Mozilla's ...

Re: Optimal workflow for shaping recorded improvisations
Yeah, I wrote a feature request where I suggested a Follow button for MIDI clips etc. If you want, you can support it here:

Re: Optimal workflow for shaping recorded improvisations
Maybe I'm just doing things wrong. Because when I set the audio track to "lead", the original MIDI track above becomes longer. (The audio track is the bounced MIDI track.)
Is there any button I have missed? :)
I tried segmented recording processes in the past, but they didn't work for me, since ...

Beat tracking for MIDI and audio
I believe tracking the tempo aka beat tracking of music is a missing key feature in Live.
At the moment, it seems to be necessary to add warp markers to an audio track that is set to "lead".
But extracting the tempo and tempo changes(!) from a MIDI clip and audio clip would be very practical ...

Re: Optimal workflow for shaping recorded improvisations
Thank you! These are very good tips!
Though, regarding the tempo, I need it the other way around.
I don't want to change the MIDI notes to fit the tempo grid. I want to change the tempo to fit all speed changes of the MIDI track.
(Doing this manually is an incredibly tedious task. Actually, I don ...

Re: Optimal workflow for shaping recorded improvisations
Here is what I did, but it didn't work as expected:
1. Copy the MIDI track.
2. Bounce in Place the new MIDI track to create an audio track.
3. Set Warp and Lead for the audio track.
4. Create warp markers within the audio track to create an implicit tempo map.

Optimal workflow for shaping recorded improvisations
Hi everyone!
I wonder what the most efficient workflow is when you have recorded a longer MIDI track.
I like to record long improvisations from my MIDI keyboard. Naturally, it happens that I get out of sync with Live's timing and I also slow down or speed up my playing. Sometimes I change the time ...

Re: Suggestion about managing different versions of a song
I guess efficient version management is still an unsolved issue in digital creative production, be it visually or musically. (Update: I have to take that sentence back. I found Perforce.)

Thanks! I'm using Live Standard without M4L. Perhaps I'll make an upgrade if I really need this.

Thanks, Jonny and Exie. I will try using the info text for locators and dummy clips.

Re: Make notes throughout a long clip
Hi, I'm using a lot of annotations while I'm writing on paper (or in MuseScore). Sometimes I add ideas or I comment sections that I'm not satisfied with yet. I think that's a good way to improve my work, like carving a sculpture.
Unfortunately, this is quite limited in Ableton Live.

Better Orientation in the Piano Roll
Hi everyone!
I've been using Ableton Live for years now. However, when I open the piano roll of a clip I need to spend unnecesscary seconds to find the pitch and octave of the notes. (Normally, my tracks are in various octaves.)
This problem especially arises if the clips have different zoom values ...
