Installing Live onto a new computer - upgrade question

Hi all,

I've got a new iMac on order and will be installing Live onto it. It's the 2nd machine that I will have Live on, and so within the licence (the other being a Macbook).

My question is about the upgrade - my disc installer version of Live is Live 6. I then upgraded to Live 7, but this seemed ...

Re: My external hard disk has crashed, lost instruments

(And it very well could have had something to do with your sound card and specifically the power cycling.[/quote]

I'm pretty sure my soundcard is the culprit - do you think an upgrade to a Presonus Firebox would help that? Don't trust using any of my external drives now!!!

Re: My external hard disk has crashed, lost instruments

Can you describe more in detail in what way your hard drive crashed?
Like, mechanical problem, some sort of data corruption?

Its an external hard drive linked by firewire into my M-Audio Firewire Audiophile soundcard, which is linked by firewire to my Macbook laptop. Its been very buggy for a ...

My external hard disk has crashed, lost instruments

Hi

Really hope someone here can help. My external hard drive has just been corrupted and I've lost all my samples, projects, everything. And I hadn't backed it up so I am a dumb motherf**ker I know.

I've also lost all the presets for my Live 7 Suite of instruments (operator, analog, electric and ...

I'm also considering the Minimoog arturia vst, and have been told by loads of people on KVR to go with the Mini Monsta.

I've got demo's of both, and I'm leaning toward the Mini Moog Arturia as it just feels more playable and simple, and I'm in love with some of the presets (which I'll be honest are ...

Dig it man. Nice job. Did you just use abletons resonator for the resonance? I like the pitch shifting too. What plugins did you use beside izotope?

"There's no bass or lead?? There sounds like some ambient and voice toward the middle of the track. But the whole jam is pretty much percussion ...

My first finished house track, feedback greatly appreciated

Hi all,

After 6 months I've finished my first original track, which is a house track aimed at the dancefloor.

I'd be very grateful for feedback, particularly in terms of mixing levels etc.

I applied Ozone Izotope to get the levels up, and file is ...

hi

there is a choke thing within the chain rack i believe, do the right-mouse click to reveal a submenu and you can select choke groups there.

or do a search on this forum for posts under my name because i asked this question only a couple of months ago and got some good options to get around it.

I've got the Four Band Frequency Divider that was recommended on this forum recently, would that be the tool I need?
Set up a track wit the kick and the 4band , then set up two empty audio tracks.
In the Input chooser of the first empty audio track choose the output of "LowOutput" chain.
Same for ...

How do I split a track's frequencies?

Hi all,

I'm trying to find out how to split a kick drum track into 2 different tracks, one with the ~80Hz freqs and the other with the rest of the kick frequencies.

I've got the Four Band Frequency Divider that was recommended on this forum recently, would that be the tool I need?

If not, can ...

Recreating bassline from Larry Heard - Can You Feel It?

Hi all

Does anyone have any tips on recreating the bassline from Larry Heard's Can You Feel It.

According to an interview with him, its a preset from a Roland Juno 2, but I don't have that or any of the Arturia vst instruments, just Ableton Suite.

Any help very much appreciated as I'm not ...

Pros:
