Hi,

I've warped plenty of small audio files so I know how to do it, but when it comes to whole tracks (5-8 minutes), I was wondering roughly how many warp points you need for DJing. Is it 1 warp point per bar? 1 per 8 bars? 1 per 16 bars?

hmmm.. just discovered I had installed the new .dlls from the latest kontakt update in the wrong folder so I was using kontakt 3.0 - I've re-installed correctly and now the song seems to have come back to life.

we'll see how that goes.

other than kontakt there was an ableton compressor in each of the problematic sets. but thats it.

i haven't used looper yet.

@Michael, How can you tell I've got many small clips? Is it because of the file size, is it just small audio clips that causes RAM usage or midi as well? Consolidating is cool as a work around for now but in future I think it will be a major work flow problem because I ...

They're not 'huge' kontakt instruments with long sustaining crash cymbals or anything like that. just a whole lot of 1-hits organised into kontakt instruments. a similar thing happened with one of my other songs. I had to export everything and rebuild it.

Its a bad bug if it leads to an export ...

I removed the kontakt.dll from the vsts folder and the song is at least opening now (takes ages to open). There was 3 instances of kontakt, should it be able to run 3 instances?

to my knowledge i'm not running anything into ram. the ram button on the clips is deactivated. My OS is XP service pack 2. I have 2.0gb of ram installed.

so should live 8.0.2 work on a p4 laptop with 2gb of ram? because I am have not enough memory errors as well.

The song has a licensed version of Kontakt loaded at the moment however it could still be the cause of the problem because its version 3 - not the latest update. I purchased Komplete 5 and a few of the other NI vsts which come with it have caused problems for ...

Hi Christian, is there some way I can upload this file to you? Its definately the pure .als file and its 48mb. And it definately needs your attention... it will open but crashes in various ways as soon as I start working.

I think I know whats wrong, my hard drives are nearly full (Its a laptop, a good laptop, but a couple of years old so small hard drive). I'm going to buy a new drive. I will have to install it next week, I will revive this thread if there is still a problem.

Purchased live 8, worked on a few songs, saved them, one of them will not re-open. It causes Live to eventually crash.

Can someone from Ableton please help? I will lose heaps of work if I cant open this song.
