Python MIDI I/O
I want to write a MIDI effect in Python -- something that can listen to my keyboard input, add a harmony*, and output both to Live. All my problems would be solved by a trivially simple piece of example code, one that just adds another note a halfstep up, or transposes its input an octave, or ...

Change clip editor background.
Live's clip editor background has rows alternating dark and light, like the keys on a piano, repeating every 12 tones. I use 31 tones in an octave. I would like to be able to change the background, assigning different colors to each row. Is that possible?

Sorry
I never realized that could be a problem. In future I'll start a new thread and include a link to the old discussion instead. Thanks for pointing it out.
Sorry

Re: Digital Performer
This thread is 4 years old. Do people still feel the same -- Ableton's nice and immediate and does everything (to some degree), DP is deep and complicated but worth it if you've got the time?

Re: Warp for MIDI
The reason recording and then warping the audio is undesirable is that once I've got a set of melodies, quantized appropriately, I do lots of melodic transformations -- change one or two degrees of the scale, transpose a few notes so that melodies that would clash can harmonize instead, etc. I need ...

Warp for MIDI
I use my monomes solely as interfaces to a (very strange) synth, basically like a Hammond organ. I do a lot of improvising without a click track. Once, I recorded a lot of such improv into Ableton Live. If it had been audio, it would have been easy to go through and place a warp marker at each ...

Re: Delete clip from hardware
Jakob: That's awesome!
I don't speak on behalf of Ableton, but if the LOM has been changed with the new update to allow one to move and delete clips using M4L, then it should be possible to do what you're talking about to audio clips, by using a parallel audio track. Say you initially record into ...

Re: Delete clip from hardware
I'm reading about the new beta for Live and M4L, and wondering if this problem is now solved? "Live objects like tracks, clips or parameters retain their identity (id nn) during operations like move, save/restore, cut/paste, delete/undo, the identity is global and can be communicated

Re: Recording cc jumps automation in arrangement view?
Are you sure the input isn't sweeping through a continuous range to begin with? I sometimes record CC info generated from Max. If I have Max send a 0, then a 60, I see a discrete jump from 0 to 60 in Ableton.

Don't ask for too much! They won't take us seriously. I just want to be able to delete clips. Nothing fancy.
