Its not for Operator but there is oxe fm synth with this patch :)

The Oxe installer does not copy the VST DLL to the VST folder. So I had to copy the DLL manually to the VST folder. Unfortunately the VST crashes Live 8.1 ("A serious program error has occurred ...

Re: Lately Bass with Operator
I own a Yamaha TX81Z too, but I haven't used it in the last 15 years or so. I remember I used to like "Lately Bass", so I would like to use this sound with Operator. But I cannot find any preset named like "lately", even after I installed Live 4 and 5 compatibility packs. Where is the "Lately Bass ...

Re: Lately Bass with Operator
The preset is called 'Lately (Solid) Bass.adv'. It has to be from a LivePack in the Live 5 archive based on the file date. As suggested, Live 4 Compatibility pack is probably right: http://www.ableton.com/pages/downloads/live_packs/archive

Re: In-ear headphones
What about health issues? I am not talking about cranking up the volume and damaging the hearing, nor I am talking about hygiene. I am talking about ear drum perforation when pulling out too quickly the triple silicon flange. What is your experience?

Re: Best choice for swap file, Windows XP and 4GB RAM
Thanks for the tip! I'll try a swap file on the mechanical hard disk (SSD are not well suited to host swap files), and I'll experiment with having no swap file at all.

Re: Best choice for swap file, Windows XP and 4GB RAM
I know that a separate temp drive would be optimal, but a separate machanical hard disk is noisy, and power consuming.
Does it make sense not to have a swap file at all with Windows XP and 4GB RAM?

Best choice for swap file, Windows XP and 4GB RAM
I am going to build a new PC with 4GB RAM, a SSD system drive and a traditional mechanical hard disk for data. The OS will be Windows XP 32 bit. I am going to use it almost exclusively with Ableton Live. Which is the best choice for the swap file: no swap file, swap file on SSD, swap file on ...

I changed the RAM from PC2100 to PC2700 (1 GB was all I could find) but there was no significant performance improvement. My PC is still slow, both as a general purpose PC and with Ableton Live. The typical results of the Tarekith's Performance Test range from 15% CPU for 8 tracks with a Core 2 Quad ...
