oblique: scaling down is the way to go. i dream of making music with nothing but a laptop. the slim white keyboard (in front of the macbeth m5n, right?) is a korg midi keyboard; k49, i believe? a good midi keyboard. nice feel and mod/pitch wheels.

got it! velocity trick totally worked. has the opposite effect on the nanokontrol too (from muting chains) where the led comes on when it's muted and off otherwise. which is actually what i would prefer, oddly :D

mapping midi controller to mute/solo in drum racks?
is this possible? am i missing something here? i'm looking to map mute/solo buttons on my nanokontrol to the individual drums in a drum rack. but when i enter midi map mode and go to my drum racks, the mute/solo buttons aren't highlighted and do nothing when i click on them. i can't map them to ...

update. audiofire started not working again. pretty cool. i received the standard response from their tech support: "are your inputs muted?" and "boot your computer, then plug in the card." even tho i clearly explained i had no problems with receiving audio inputs. what a lame response...no greeting ...
