Re: Best recommended ambient pads intrument
For pad sounds you often have to deal with a slow attack, long decay / release and some slightly modulations to get a evolving sound. I really like Absynth, Massive and Reaktor. Ableton Analog is cool too, it also features envelope loop features which are great. I recommend to start making some stri...

Re: How to detune many racked simplers ?
You can put each Simpler in a seperate instrument rack and map detune to one macro. Map all these rack macros to one macro in the main instrument rack, now you can setup a range for each detune control. This is not the best solution, the best will be a detune device in M4L. https://dl.dropboxusercon...

Re: Multiple loops arrangement view
Just use one audio or midi track for each loop during editing, then resample the result to a new track for a one-file loop. You also can group more tracks and let the single tracks open for later changes. The audio tracks have fades as an option for the arrangement, just check this out too. The Live...

how to control Simpler Slice marker?
Hej Folks,
is it possible to manage Slice markers using M4L? I just checked the available Simpler parameters but cannot find any option for this.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
T

Re: Serious issue with Live 9+
Win 10 have some issues with scaling on 4k displays. Try to disable systemwide scaling, reset it to 100% and try to use the Zoom option of Live instead. The next big Win10 update should fix such issues.

Re: Need Help for MIDI Files
Set midi monitoring to IN for the midi channels or press STRG/CTRL+Arm and press the ARM button on the channels you want to record / activate midi-input. Make sure ou have selected the correct midi input device for each channel.
As always, check the Live manual. It explains it very nicely.

Re: New Simpler Slice Mode with Scales
Scales are describing the notes in a row for given root note / mode, it makes no sense to use it for slicing. You can use the midi pitch plugin to transpose the whole Simpler setting to the octave root you need. If you need all sounds of one track in one Simpler, just record all sounds/chords into o...

Re: stability
Some of the buffer and sample dragndrop using M4L patches crashes randomly. I think this is caused by a memory/buffer issue when patches not programmed carefully. Same with crappy VSTs. You can use Reaktor for example to crash Live but it's not a Reaktor issue at all, its mostly caused by crappy ens...

Re: The Great BitWig Migration
... 4. Sharper UI, Ableton does not seem as sharp in contrast to other DAW's - check if you have the zoom option changed / at 100% it should be sharp because Live is plain 2D Ableton will implement some nice features in the future im sure. The Bitwig peepz dont have to build a new concept from grou...

Re: Should I learn MAX/MSP vs M4L?
Max for Live is the integration of MAX/MSP in Live. So you can use all audio / midi / vizzie tutorials for learning. Its a bit confusing on startup, i hope i make it clear enough.

I like to have the 2 screens unlinked, with a option for fixed settings.
