When you install a new release it installs into it's own folder
i.e. there is an 8.2.6
and a folder for whatever versions you may have installed as well, so nothing should have been overwritten.
That's what I figured...it is just really strange of all things, that one file of projects would get ...

Re: Fat Kicks and Big Snares
My basic advice: always at least 2 sounds. 1 for feel and 1 for sound (character).
I like this advice! It's kind of the same concept as adding sub bass with your actual bass line - one you can hear, the other you can feel. I definitely think it's all about layering complimentary samples, and eq ...

Re: Upgraded to 8.2.6 and Lost Project Files??
Anybody have any ideas? I'm running a recovery program, but it isn't finding any .als files yet. My trash can empties "securely", but I can't see it all just getting deleted permanently without emptying the trash also. It makes me think I must have overwrote the file when I upgraded...but honestly ...

Upgraded to 8.2.6 and Lost Project Files??
I'm running a Mac OS X 10.5.8, and when I wasn't able to open my friends project files in my Live because my version was out of date, I upgraded to the 8.2.6. I'm not sure if it was then, or if it was from my cat laying on the keyboard, but I can't find ANY of my .als files. When I search for .als ...

Trying to use W1 with Mac
The instructions just say to copy the .dll into your VST folder, which I did, and rescanned VSTs (and of course even closed and re-opened live) and I don't see it anywhere. I tried copying every other file that was offered on the site, the AU, DLL, and VST, and no combination seems to work. What am ...

Incorporating MPD24, DJM800, and 2 CDJs
I have Ableton 7, an Akai MPD24, a DJM800, and 2 CDJ1000mk3s, a Dell Laptop, and an external SoundBlaster Live 24. I am new to Ableton, and only know basics of the prog, so please bear with me. I am basically trying to figure out the best way to hook everything together, to be able to use the CDJs ...
