Re: APC40 Clip Track????? Creative manual editing from Ableton
Am I understanding your problem correctly? Do you want whichever clip you are currently playing to show in the clip view when you select it, so that if you do a lot of quick selection of different clips that it will show the current clip?

Re: APC40 Clip Track????? Creative manual editing from Ableton
This is an "issue" with Live, not the APC. At the present moment, it is physically impossible to map any controller in such a way that will select a clip, unless the scene is also selected. Believe me, I've racked my brain trying to come up with a work around. It wouldn't be as frustrating if ...

APC40 Clip Track????? Creative manual editing from Ableton
So on the subject of clip/track select from the APC 40.
Looks like instead of fixing the issue to work correctly the just edited the manual. interesting.....
Doesn't give me much faith they will fix this issue...
Now in 8.0.2 the manual on page 471 says as follows:

Re: make the apc show the track that is playing.
The work around for now I have used is to assign the clip stop buttons on the APC to "track status". This only is practical for the first 8 tracks. Hopefully this gets sorted out. It should work like the manual states on pg 471.

Re: Akai APC40 V2 or Future Releases
By the time AKAI get done adding the audio interface, RGB LEDs, velocity sensitive pads, motorized faders and scribble strips...... it will be $1200 and people will yip about ridiculous and greedy AKAI and Ableton are. They packed a lot of power and usability into this controller at a pretty ...

Re: Live 8 and Logic Pro 8
I like using them both for diff things personally. My sound creation workflow is a hell of a lot faster in Live but I adore Logic's bundled effects and instruments. I pretty much can't stand Logic's timeline though. Compared to every other Daw software I've ever used, it's just clunky, fiddely and ...

Re: Having dj for years on vinyls and being hardly hit by the...
I have been using tracktor since 2, I really like traktor scratch pro. The control with the vinyl is spot on. It has the feel of actually playing vinyl. I would use it some times with vinyl control and sometimes with a controller. Now with the APC40 I will probably just use Ableton. Traktor is ...

Select via on launch via midi???
It is odd that the APC40 appear to select the clip that is playing when it launches it by default. When I launch a clip it does not select the clip for clip view, the clip/track button does call up the track correctly. This was a pretty big oversight and I hope it is addressed in a future update ...

Re: select clip on launch via MIDI
I have noticed the same behavior. It is odd that the APC40 doesn't do this by default. I glad someone else has noticed this. When I launch a clip it does not select the clip for clip view, the clip/track button does call up the track correctly. This was a pretty big oversight and I hope it is ...

Re: Do you leave your computer on?
If you think it's good for your operating system to let it run run run you obviously don't know much about computers.
Computers run on electricity, which is generated mainly from burning fossil fuels, which are destroying our planet.
