Re: Template for Playing Live, live (warning, long image!)

Thanks for posting this. Actually, improvising live with just my guitar, voice and Live is one of my big goals for the future. I'm especially interested in the Line 6 X3. I've been thinking about getting one and was quite disappointed by its lack of midi in. So, do you switch X3 patches by triggerin...

Re: [OT] Nicotine - What's your story

I smoked for 20 years. It took me about 10 years to become a regular smoker. Now it has taken me about 5 years to quit. Guess I'm a little slow. Alcohol makes it much harder to quit smoking. I should probably give up on that too.

Re: Best wav editing software?

OSX not PC I switched to Mac about 7 years ago. And I still miss Wavelab. I also tried Wave Editor, Peak, DSP-Quattro, Audacity etc. but really hated all of them. They all created "projects" as if I wanted to master a cd when all I ever wanted to do is cut a few seconds off from a sample. Now I use...

Re: Poll: Did You Use A Crack For Live Before You Bought It?

It's funny, because I always thought the decision to pay for something or to steal it was more a moral judgement that a financial one. I may be out of touch with the mdoern definition of theft though. Well, you may be out of touch with the traditional definition of theft. It has something to do wit...

Can I use an older version of Live

Hi, I own the edu version of Live 7 and use it on my Macbook Pro. However, recently I aquired an Acer Aspire One netbook. I installed Live 7 on it and although it did work, it ran a bit slow. So, I thought, maybe I could use an older version. My question is: As an owner of Live 7 am I allowed to run...

Re: Scroll Wheel Zoom - For the love of GOD! Please.............

Wow, this is an old thread. Yes, the lack of scrollwheel zooming in the arrangement view is one of the reasons I still record and edit my more singer/songwriter stuff in Tracktion. I really don't get how someone could not see this as a major workflow enhancement. You miss the tiny area at the top by...

Re: Ableton Live and Behringer FCB1010 set up issues.

There is also the possibility that you have to calibrate the pedals first before you can use them. There is a Yahoo Group on the 1010 with tons of information. Join it here:

http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/fcb1010/

They also have documents describing the calibration process.

Re: Ableton Live and Behringer FCB1010 set up issues.

We then set Ableton to use that CC to arm recording for a track and simultaneously start recording in a loop slot on that track. I wouldn't recommend that. It seems a little awkward because Live will always execute those functions in a certain order. If, for some reason, it tries to record before i...

Re: Everyone who wants educationprice on upgrade sign up here.

Another starving teacher here who cannot afford the upgrade without an educational discount. I even helped beta testing, by the way. +1 I had the educational version of Live 7, which I upgraded to Suite 7 at the end of last month. According to the Live 8 Release FAQ that was posted on the site (whic...

Re: Ableton Live and Behringer FCB1010 set up issues.

thanks Axel how do i do it? Could you be more specific with your questions? What do you want to do? Have you read the manual section on midi remote control? After reading that, what exactly is it that still doesn't work? The FCB does the same things other midi controllers do. How you apply its capa...

Re: OT: The death penalty for cracked software - too harsh?

I have no problem paying for software like Live that clearly is the product of some intelligent people putting a lot of work into the product AND having an open ear for their customers wishes. But I think Make Music should pay me for having to use their piece of crap software Finale. Year after year...

[frs] Looper - crackle

Hi,

I have Looper setup with an insert fx track. Using two quick pushes on the big button via midi controller to start/stop the loop produces crackling noises that get recorded into the loop. I don't remember having that problem in the last beta I tested which was b16 I think. Now using b20.

Re: looper feedback routing not working as documented.

I also happen to have just tried this routing in b15 and it worked just as advertised. And it's awesome!!!! :D Don't know, have you tried turning it off and on again? ;-) Live that is. Are you absolutely sure your effect works the way you want it to work? That's all I can think of at the moment.

Re: [amo] looper assign to foot pedal

@mocker You need to configure the midi controller in such a way that it sends a Noteon message when you press it and a Noteoff when you release it. I do that with my FCB1010 and it works fine except for an issue when I try to clear the buffer while the loop is stopped (it starts playing again before...
