Could you be more specific with your questions? What do you want to do? Have you read the manual section on midi remote control? After reading that, what exactly is it that still doesn't work? The FCB does the same things other midi controllers do. How you apply its capabilities with Live is entirely up to you.ERIC MANDALA wrote:thanks Axel

Re: Ableton Live and Behringer FCB1010 set up issues.
I just bought the FCB1010 and I'm trying to set it up with Ableton Live. I'm running into some problems and I would appreciate any help that would be available. We have learned how to use a pedal to trigger a loop. We are currently trying to figure out how to use a pedal to start a loop recording and then use the same pedal to stop the recording process and start the looping process. We set pedal 1 to trigger CC#22 at velocity 127. We then set Ableton to use that CC to arm recording for a track and simultaneously start recording in a loop slot on that track. Theoretically, this should start our loop recording even if we're working on a totally different part of the song at that time. It worked! But now it only seems to work periodically, and we are having trouble figuring how why it works sometimes, and not other times. One of the problems appears to be that if the track is already armed for recording, and then hit the pedal to start recording it un-arms the track while simultaneously trying to start the track recording. There appear to be other reasons the recording isn't working, though, and we can't figure them all out. Has anyone tried to setup Ableton this way? Does anyone have advice for us? Thanks! I wouldn't recommend that. It seems a little awkward because Live will always execute those functions in a certain order. If, for some reason, it tries to record before it has armed the track it will fail. When I record guitar and vocals into Live I always use a dedicated input track for monitoring and route the signal from there to the different recording tracks that are always record enabled, so the only thing my control message does is trigger the recording.ERIC MANDALA wrote: We then set Ableton to use that CC to arm recording for a track and simultaneously start recording in a loop slot on that track.
Good luck,

Re: Ableton Live and Behringer FCB1010 set up issues.
Hi, Thanks
I have armed the tracks for recording and set the FCB to only trigger the loop slot I want to record in.
Now, since I'm not triggering many things simultaneously, I don't have the
problems I was having before.
I'm now trying to figure out how to use the expression pedals. I would like to
set one of the pedals to act as the fader between the A bank of loops and the B
bank of loops. I can't seem to figure out how to get the expression pedals to
work at all. I can't even use them to set parameters when I'm programming the
numbered pedals to trigger loop recording.
Does anyone have clues on how to program the expression pedals?
Thanks!
Eric

Re: Ableton Live and Behringer FCB1010 set up issues.
the thing to understand about the expression pedals is that they can be set differently for every numbered pedal you press. So if you press pedal '1' you may find that Expression A is sending out on cc126 on midi ch1, with values 0-126 (all nice and simple). Then ... you press numbered pedal '2', and all of a sudden the expression A doesn't work .. huh?
that's because you have selected 'preset 2' and the Expression A is probably now sending some crazy factory set value like RS232 value 'quack' to the duck/elephant matrix. Or something. (a little jest there). Use a midi monitor application to check what is actually arriving at your computer from these pedals. On XP I use MidiOX for this.
I strongly suggest you get hold of a software editor for the FCB, as, although it's easy to program via the hardware once you understand what it is doing, it is much easier to start off with a software preset editor.
Personally I use this one, http://www.mtnsys.com/faq-fcb/PCEditorBeta.htm , but there are others available.

There is also the possibility that you have to calibrate the pedals first before you can use them. There is a Yahoo Group on the 1010 with tons of information. Join it here:
http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/fcb1010/
They also have documents describing the calibration process.

Hi Im Manuel, I m trying to set up the expression pedal of the behringer fcb 1010 to change the value of the tempo.
But it seems that as said upper, it works only assigned to a foot switch. Now I d like to use it separated, so I can push the switches to start loops and at the same time being able to pitch tempo with the pedal. Does anybody can help me? Thanks

Re: Ableton Live and Behringer FCB1010 set up issues.
To make it straight, I don t get how to assign a note on a pedal.
a foot switch is selected. Push "down" 2 sec then "up", then push 8(for pedal) 2 sec, then hit it, it flashes. then up. Here I m writting the CC number.then the minimum value of the pedal, and the maximum. Up and down til it comes back to main menu.
Now on ableton, if I put the midi affect. mode, it works for the foot switch but doesn t write a cc number or react when moving the pedal...

Hi,peepingtom wrote:Yo, I checked the link of mista Musiker01, for the setting program of the fcb1010. Really cool, but does it exist for mac?
I've sold my FCB1010 over a year ago. Back then there was only one usable editor for Mac that's was java based, a little buggy and you had to use the Uno chip. Anyway, I always had a Win computer at hand to program the pedal with. If you want to use one expression pedal for the tempo you have to set it up in all the presets in the bank. After much practice, I got quite good at programming the FCB by foot. You can do it, too. Good luck!

Re: Ableton Live and Behringer FCB1010 set up issues.
Everything seems right. I ve assigned a number to the pedal, and max and min value. Come back, then the pedal is not detected by ableton in midi assign mode. I should maybe upload the fcb programm on behringer s site...
