Collect all and save - just check again

Save an existing project with some recordings in a different folder, then, Collect all and save. You would expect all the audio content is already there. It isn't.

If you choose to manage the project now, there will be files remaining external.

How come?

Confirmation required to delete a sidechained to track

It may happen that you sidechain a track's effect to a VSTi track only then to bounce it to audio rather than freeze. If you delete this track, the sidechaining is lost without a trace (except for file backups).

It would be good if Live warned of attempting to delete such tracks.

Has anyone managed to get this to work with the new traktor? There is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ujP0BQqIG9w but it is 32bit only.

Session view - parameters to be flagged if automation in any scene

Parameter automation is greatly organised in session view in that you can leave a parameter in some position and have it modified by automation in some clips, but left in default position in other clips. This gets back to default when clip is left. You can do this with effect/instrument ON/OFF setti...

Resampling to bypass master fx

The way resampling is used - as seen on youtube and in some max4live stuff, - implies the effects on the master channel, as well as its volume faders should be bypassed. That might be made separate and named resampling raw.

Re: Preparing a project for mastering

Okay guys, thanks for your advice. Two scenarios here 1. Mastering. The mix is done, as I wrote (and thanks Tarekith for your articles - I read them years ago; lots of valuable knowledge). What action (by engineer) and costs would mastering involve? 2. Mixing. What preparation of material is require...

Re: Preparing a project for mastering

Thanks for your replies. What could those expectations be? Let's say i want a tune to be mastered. I would hope to sell several copies, but that is a debut, so my budget is minimal. I have made sure the spectrum curve matches "folk" productions, by izotope standard. I think I have successfully remov...

Re: Proper panic button

OK, thanks. Three more things, then.

1. Key shortcut and midi assignable.
2. all effects buffers to zero so that when you restore DSP all are silent and not processing anything.
3. playback to stop.

The topic is not clear to me either.

My headphones cheat, you think?

I wonder how that is technically possible.
Anyone?

Why no 5Hz filtering

I have found out that my headphones can reproduce sound with discernable hints of beat passing through melda's mbandpass filter set to Lowpass, 20 Hz, slope 120, very low q. It also turns out that changing to high-pass with the same parameters improves definition of my drum track but doubling the fi...

COntrol tail of freeze

I have found out that between two clips minutes apart in a sequencer track the whole tail of dead silence after the first one has been frozen, too. Is there a smart way to tell ableton not to freeze a space between clips? There are two peculiarities here: 1. if a clip is not followed, it does not le...
