Smart colouring clips

Is there a smarter way of colouring multiple cells using shades rather than one colour. This would help mark continuity within a series of non-identical clips

Restart all the playing clips in session view

Hi
Is there a workaround to have all the currently playing clips when in session view restart?

This would be great for mangling with techno loops when you want to mark the start of bar earlier than would normally be, this being done with all the currently playing clips rather than with a new scene.

Re: Ableton Push vs Novation Launchpad Pro (or others?)

I have tested launch pad pro but ended up going for push 1. Some find LPP easier. I would say this is a matter of getting used to push workflow. You can't do all with push, but the out-of-computer experience of making music is really worth some limitations. Arsenal might make LPP do most of what Pus...

Various improvements

1. Group track could contain clips and enable recording automation of its effects. On second thought, midi notes could be recorded, too - if only for some of the effects which take notes as cc. 2. Auto colouring could use shading for some variety. 3. Upon clicking on an audio a clip, it could be pos...

Re: Ableton won't show fades on some clips?

Same problem here with Ableton 10.0.2. Slightly OT, overall, track handling with mouse so much clumsier in AL10. Couldn't you click anywhere on the clip in arrangement to select it for everything? Now, there is this upper part for notes and clip and lower part for automation. Also track expanding, c...

Re: Scale changes on the fly in Push

I am looking for a way to alternate scales within one song proabably across all musical tracks - as it happens in some songs. Thanks for scaleomat. I guess it is Live 9? There are quite a few solutions - getting to know them to make a lasting choice is trickier than it was to learn Live 5! Lucky the...

Scale changes on the fly in Push

How do you handle scale changes in the middle of jamming? Is there a way to do that by using ClyphX or some other tool? The other approach would be to get push to play one scale and have the changes done via something like j74 Progressive. Not sure how this would affect the light feedback for the no...

looper recording to trigger playback

Is there a way to work around the lack of this option other than key assignment. I would like clicking record on looper to start the playback.
Thanks

'drawing' tool to fix sample clicks - as in wavelab

I saw this kind of tool only in wavelab years ago: you could fix with it any sample clicks.

Is there a better solution? I would be looking for something manual to keep the effect to the minimum.

Re: a midi version of looper

carpy I meant a midi effect to be put last before the instrument. The difference between thsi and using overdub on a midi track is that if you use the track it can't be last in the midi chain. an effect could record stuff and fully take over playback upon recording. Drag loop out - and it could beco...

a midi version of looper

Is there a tool which you could put between the midi input and an instrument, which could be made to replay the recent n bars while blocking new input? This would be good for midi randomising tools to 'freeze' good bars, ideally this could also facilitate getting good sounding bars to a new midi tra...

previous or next scene in sync with global settings

when in note mode, up and down arrow move to the adjacent scene, but instantly.

Is there a way to make them do that in sync with the global settings? I would have thought shift might be the candidate.

MIDI curves to have change added to the beginning of the cli

When you turn a midi knob in the middle of a clip, that marks the first moment this midi channel will send a message, which may result in some abrupt sound changes.
Is there a way to have the first recorded value in a midi channel added to the very beginning of the clip?

Hope it makes sense.

Re: Automate with push 1

OK, thanks. So the workaround is to just duplicate the existing lenght before automating.
