Hi!

I'm going to build a new PC and it will have 4 GB Ram.
Using WinXP and default settings one can only utilize 2 GB.

I'd like to hear reports from users, who are working with XP and enabled 3GB switch. Does it work with all plugins? Is the system stable?

An alternative would be using Vista x64 ...

Live doesn't run smooth on Vista, several people (including me) report problems with Live's GUI swallowing CPU and in combination with a Fireface 400 it is unuseable on my system even (runs better with my other audio-interfaces eventhough these come with worse drivers than the Fireface). I would recomend using Vista SP1 if you are getting a new computer. I use to say bad things about Vista until i installed it. I'm writing this post under vista and it says it's using 640mb of ram (i have 2GB).. and i have P2P software running.

So if you have 4GB i would recommend the x64 version ...

LOL.. i've upgraded my computer.. using 400€.. and i bet my PC is faster than any Mac loading vista.

The time btw pushing the power button and opening IE7 (for ex..) it's 17secs (yes i have counted). And to have a big screen like mac users have i got a Samsung HDready 40" screen. :)

Hehe i done what you did.. i saw what it is for.. but my problem is the midi inputs and outputs having the same name.

Well i changed the other one to U-2 mode and in MIDI-OX i was able to made them work as two diferent controller. But the problem in ableton remains. I have two BCR2000 inputs and two outputs all with the same name. So it always chooses one device. :(

I've tried changing the ID's and still doesn't work.

And i don't know how to do that user config file thing.. bah.
Remember that both BCR's are connected via USB. And there is no need to install drivers. And i'm running windows vista ultimate x86 sp1.

Hope someone can help me.

What would happen ...

Using two BCR2000

I've two BCR2000 and i've a problem in ableton. I connect both bcr's by USB. The problem is that they have the same name and when i start ableton he chooses one of then leaving the other inactive.

Please someone help me i've looked for it everywere i couldn't find anything.

USB2.0 and Vista

I have Ableton 7 running on Vista Ultimate x86 SP1. And i'm having latency problems. I have one axiom49 and a alesis multimix 16 USB 2.0.

Every time i load an instrument in ableton these devices start lagging. Then i change the input rate (it does like a refresh) and chage it back to the default ...

I'll test it latter today.. i'm still building the new studio.. we are now attaching the HDTV on the wall so.. hehe.. maybe tomorrow!

I hope this makie thing works here like i saw on the video.. saves me time mapping a template and it works better (i hope).

The bluescreen appears only when you change the chip7.. usually included in the motherboard hehe :roll:

It's almost perfect that behringer.. but you can't use any of the buttons to use with ableton via midi.. They say they are going to do it.. so i'm waiting :)
