I'm going to build a new PC and it will have 4 GB Ram.
Using WinXP and default settings one can only utilize 2 GB.
I'd like to hear reports from users, who are working with XP and enabled 3GB switch. Does it work with all plugins? Is the system stable?
An alternative would be using Vista x64 ...

Live doesn't run smooth on Vista, several people (including me) report problems with Live's GUI swallowing CPU and in combination with a Fireface 400 it is unuseable on my system even (runs better with my other audio-interfaces eventhough these come with worse drivers than the Fireface). LOL.. i've upgraded my computer.. using 400€.. and i bet my PC is faster than any Mac loading vista.
The time btw pushing the power button and opening IE7 (for ex..) it's 17secs (yes i have counted). And to have a big screen like mac users have i got a Samsung HDready 40" screen. :)

Using two BCR2000
I've two BCR2000 and i've a problem in ableton. I connect both bcr's by USB. The problem is that they have the same name and when i start ableton he chooses one of then leaving the other inactive.
Please someone help me i've looked for it everywere i couldn't find anything.

I have Ableton 7 running on Vista Ultimate x86 SP1. And i'm having latency problems. I have one axiom49 and a alesis multimix 16 USB 2.0.
Every time i load an instrument in ableton these devices start lagging. Then i change the input rate (it does like a refresh) and chage it back to the default ...
