Re: How long have you been using ableton live? :D

I started using Live at version negative 3 The year was 1985. Ableton live was just a concept we had to gather 15 men with strong minds to chant the sacred chants and invoke it. Then three pure blooded witches entered the circle holding raw sample data in a bucket of silver. Tell that to the kids to...

Re: Stabilize or re-sync midi clock during a live show?

Firstly you know there's a cause and it's possible you might track it down to a nice simple easy fix like a lack of power to a USB hub, or something else you can fix or avoid yourself. Often that's not the case. There may be an issue in the software, firmware or hardware. If you can't fix the underl...

Re: Making your song sound good on phone speakers (etc)

I render out to a shared folder. I connect to that folder on my phone and play it on the internal speaker, then on the headphones. then I connect the phone to the bluetooth speakers in the kitchen. Then I connect my living room tv to that folder and play it back on the living room system. I write my...

I also may be misunderstanding but I use Monitor In on my external sequencing tracks. Those tracks don't need to be armed at all.

Re: MPE support.

It's strange how slowly Ableton move. They have so many staff, and I'm very sure they work long long hours and aren't simply drinking coffee and high fiving each other but the rate of change in this software seems slow when considering what needs to be done to successfully represent and providing ac...

Re: The Forum needs a new subforum: "Help & Troubleshooting"

I personally like the clarity of the lines forum (https://llllllll.co). It automatically searches for similar topics when you create one, which can be very useful to reduce the amount topics around the same question. And I believe this is quite common in "help" topics. I think that's this : https:/...

Re: The Forum needs a new subforum: "Help & Troubleshooting"

Forums are obviously flawed for a corporate community engagement tool. "Answers" / Quora solutions are also flawed. I think an improved solution (wishlist) would reflect what Ableton, and Ableton customers might actually benefit from. That means: Ableton want to sell packs, engage with street teams,...

Re: Is Windows 10 32 bit usable for music production?

I'm not sure why anyone would use the 32 bit version of Win 10 and I'm surprised that one still exists. The 64 bit version being better in every way.

Re: The Forum needs a new subforum: "Help & Troubleshooting"

Probably linking it the forums from main Ableton.com site might reinvigorate them a bit. But forums are weird. The old people get annoyed by the novices asking "how do I make the beats sounds good" and the new people get very insulted when they are told "perhaps you should check out the manual for y...

I didn't even realise Answers had closed.
I guess that's how engaging it was. There was no reason to hang out there.

If only someone had criticised it relentlessly when it was launched perhaps they'd have realised it was a bad idea.

Re: 2019 i9 PC using twice as much CPU as five year old MacBook Pro i7?

There's something unusual with your setup. My old 2013 era PC desktop playing the L10 Suite Demo hovers on 30% it's an i7 2600k @ 3.4Ghz with 16Gb memory I didn't try the L10 set on my laptop (also PC) it's nothing special, but it will be slightly better than that. So, if you are getting worse figur...

I'm just glad I'm too poor to afford an Osmose, because I would be frustrated with Ableton if I had one !

Re: Catalina will break Live 9

I'm surprised more people aren't talking about this. I have been waiting for a decent offer from Ableton to upgrade, but the current 25% doesn't seem very attractive. It's not fair! I have paid lots of money to Ableton over the years to buy this software and then upgrade it more than once and now I...

Re: How to create a smart looper

I've thought about this sort of thing a little bit. the main issue is with: 3 - Record a second loop with the same sound and put it into another clip on the same track because what I think you mean is: the first clip is now in clip two and you are overdubbing onto it. Which Live cannot do. It can't ...
