Indeed it is a serious contender for a eurorack solution.

I recently got a MOTU Ultralite mk5, which does quite well with eurorack levels but is also fully ready to interface with line levels and has two nice mic preamps.

There are some nice options available these days.

I just use a different simpler per sample and then group the drums after and put on effects.

Positive- drum is in its own lane which makes jamming out mutes and different patterns very easy. Easy to mix and bounce in place.

Negatives - can’t play the entire kit in one grid, MPC style. Takes a ...

Not sure I’d this helps but I turned off the asd file option in ableton so it does not make a million asd files of every sample I have ( super annoying). My MacBook is so fast that I don’t even notice a delay. Not sure if this impacts auto warp but it may be worth a try.

But, for now -- I'm just using my Torso T-1 to "replace" Stepic in a standalone workflow when I'm not tethered back to the Live software mothership.



The torso seems like such a cool hardware sequencer. I have been curious about that one.

How does an E-RM compare to a step and modulation sequencer? It really doesn't. If you said Oxi One or Hapax, that may have made some form of sense.

I returned mine and will get the controller version instead. Ableton support was very responsive and processed my claim in a week. No issues at all here.

Because of this I am thankful companies like Samples From Mars make really nice kits that I can load up while I wait and hope for a fix for this. It's currently real clunky.

You pretty much need to build the kit in the DAW for now.


Can I ask - when loading Samples From Mars kits on Push 3 ...

Can I still send audio into my RME interface and just send CV out from the Push3, and just change that in settings?

For example - Push audio settings - input - RME, output Push 3.

Then Push set to CV out for both pedal outs. 1/4 TRS to 1/8 inch L/R adapter- 1/8 inch patch cable into gear - Audio ...

I think I have a similar issue except for me it is the volume knob and tempo knob just randomly popping up and displaying over what im working on. Sometimes it wont go away for hours, so seeing the graphics for the EQ..etc is super hard. It's super annoying.

I use a MOTU 828es. It’s a bit spendy but you do get dc capable outputs for your eurorack.

Push 3 does cv as well though. One of its cooler features.

If it worked flawlessly it would be amazing and much faster than SD. Adding SD could mean needing more space, a different board..etc. Who knows. If the Wifi was well done, this would be gamechanging, honestly.
