Push 3: Wi-Fi cannot be switched on (anymore) on the device!
Push 3: Wi-Fi cannot be switched on (anymore) on the device!
Yesterday I had Push in battery mode and let the battery run down until the device switched itself off.
When Push booted up again, Wi-Fi was automatically switched off and it could no longer be switched on. Push also no longer displayed any foreign networks!
Absolute horror, as Push unfortunately only allows a backup of all projects via Wi-Fi. There should be an urgent option to save projects via USB!
Of course, Push has the latest firmware (1.1.1). I have restarted Push about 10 times - without success. Just before I wrote this text, I restarted again... and Wi-Fi can suddenly be activated again!? Luckily, otherwise I would have lost all my work forever.
Does anyone know this problem or have a tip on what to do if the problem reappears?

Re: Push 3: Wi-Fi cannot be switched on (anymore) on the device!
you could use a Linux compatible USB to ethernet adapter to backup your data.

Bad news: The problem is back - no Wi-Fi can be activated on Push... it stays switched off (and doesn't find foreign networks either).
Does anyone else here have the problem? Or am I alone in this - and I have a hardware problem (defective device)?

Probably best to contact support so they can help you troubleshoot:

Yeah it’s a problem. Support has been helpful but im not buying a new gigabyte wideband mesh router because push can’t get on my network.
There is a patch coming which may fix this but it’s tough to say for sure.
Re: Push 3: Wi-Fi cannot be switched on (anymore) on the device!
you have to connect your macbook to WiFi and connect your Push via USB to ethernet clable to your router. That would be the only way for Backup the Data for you.
Just search Push3 Usb Ethernet in google. There is a knowledgebase article @ Ableton.
If you dont see any WiFi Network, buying a new wifi router wont help. Seems that wifi is broken or your Pushs software has a problem.

Thank you. I have just opened a ticket with technical support.Tarekith wrote: ↑Thu Jun 15, 2023 3:33 pmProbably best to contact support so they can help you troubleshoot:

You misunderstood me there. It's not the router's problem - it's Push's problem. WiFi can no longer be activated/enabled on Push - it remains on "WiFi off".
@dest4b:
Thank you for your research. Maybe I will buy such a cable. But first I'll see what the support team has to say.
I hope my Push is not defective (and I have to wait weeks for a new device).
Re: Push 3: Wi-Fi cannot be switched on (anymore) on the device!
maybe, if you have an usb WiFi stick you could also try that.
cheers

Unfortunately I have also no USB WiFi Stick available. Cheers!

Got it. But wifi in general is a real problem with the standalone push. At least my experience. Mine does connect though and turn on. That may be a hardware issue. Or they will ask you to reinstall the entire os.
Re: Push 3: Wi-Fi cannot be switched on (anymore) on the device!
It's kinda ridiculous in 2023 there's not an SD slot or support for external drives on this thing. So the workflow going forward is to totally prep everything pc side then Wirelessly transfer to Push. This is a mega bummer.
Re: Push 3: Wi-Fi cannot be switched on (anymore) on the device!
If they went for SD card transfer, I'm pretty sure we'd see complains that "it's 2023, why not using wifi instead of those old physical card technology ?!"
That being said, I agree the USB port could be used for this purpose. Maybe that'll come in a future update.

Re: Push 3: Wi-Fi cannot be switched on (anymore) on the device!
for me, the push connects to WIFI but is not displayed in the software (places)
I've tried different wifi networks, different channels etc.
same thing
I've had this P3S for not very long and I'm already getting fed up with it.
I have the unpleasant impression of being a beta tester (I'm being kind by saying "beta"... more like "alpha"...).
btw no one would have objected to the presence of an SD card slot....
and the USB connection should already have been present (since version 1.0)
it's not the kind of "extra feature" you add several weeks/months after a product is released...

Re: Push 3: Wi-Fi cannot be switched on (anymore) on the device!
I had the same.. Not showd up in Ableton. No Link possible.
But was connected to my wifi. I could ping it . and access the internally urls push.local .. and get reports.
dont know what is wrong with push. but it seems it wont work on some accesspoints. In my case i replaces my Accesspoint.
Because i dont want to fell like a alpha tester anymore
But at least that feeling is still present. But wifi is working.
And i had no problems with any other wifi device even not with Link. Only with P3s.
