Re: A Three-Year Journey from Ableton Live to Bitwig Studio
I enjoyed learning Bitwig, the grid is more intuitive to me than max for live in some ways. Polarity in YouTube is great. Ableton is stable (enough) for me these days as well, but I have cut down on plugins.

I pressed buttons and it made music
Hello to old friends and new! After many years of putting it off I'm digging into M4L. I finally connected some patch cables and made a noise! It was wonderful. This is in stark contrast to my usual path of connecting patch cables, no noise, mass confusion, desperation, abandonment. For anyone ...

Re: Surfing thru Ableton instrument Presets via midi controller
You can do it easily with a knob, not sure about a button though. Make an instrument rack with a chain for each preset, the open up the chain selection zone editor. Use the 'distribute range evenly' command to split each preset chain into it's own zone. Map the chain selector to a macro, and you ...

Yay I wrote an article for beginners
I wrote an article! I mean I had to build my own website to do it but c'mon who's keeping score?

another thing to try is using finder. you can point it at a folder and sort by ALC or search by file type. I've messed with it a bit and didn't fall in love but maybe you'll find a way that works for you
Pros: powerful search
Cons: takes you out of ableton

i haven't found away around this. It's better to just accept it and move on and use the ALS as part of your organization process.

Re: Best MIDI guitar rig for Ableton 9
as long as the hardware is "good enough" then you're taking a load of your CPU. Using triple play is really nice with my laptop specs. Plenty of channels, no extra CPU, no complicated routing, any softsynth I want etc. For many guitar players getting a guitar player synth pedal is a great idea ...

I love jam origin plugin. Great for 9/10 things.
if you're looking to take the processing out of your CPU go with Fishman triple play. Easy install, nice price.

Re: Chord Progressions & Melodies With Fingertip MIDI
