Re: Disable Automation Playback?
All you need to do is move a control that has automation and that will override the automation for that control. To go back to automation, press the “enable automation” button.
Hi
Was this ever resolved? I mean I want to simply export a bunch of stems without any automation...in the other DAWs ...

Clips: copy paste slices to arbitrary places/pre beat timing
Im not sure if I was away from school...and I have read the manual many times over.
Im trying to set up (reasonably) parallel workflows between DAWs, specifically Live and Cubase as I use them both in diff contexts for each ones strengths but also thats prob most of my clients (and pro tools just ...

Re: Looping: Managing accuracy and starts for percussion/real time playing
If I may, be careful with the “how comes that no one notices” type of discourse.
Point taken...prob appears neg...the landscape of producing has changed so much in the last 20 years...I rarely track more than 1 person now, the magic of a group of peeps playing something in a live take and it ...

Re: Looping: Managing accuracy and starts for percussion/real time playing
Very generous of you
The scary thing is...no one even noticing (although its most obvious as a realtime percussionist or drummer as master timing), I guess most peeps are slaves to the click
It should be an issue for ableton...but no one notices...so there is no user feedback...although why does ...

Re: Looping: Managing accuracy and starts for percussion/real time playing
Cheers
There are a number of peeps playing and ableton follow the tempo
That might be ok with 1 person playing...I appreciate your gesture...but yeah thats not going to work.
What is needs is a function where the last (defined) window at the end of the loop can be spliced realtime to the front of it ...

Re: Looping: Managing accuracy and starts for percussion/real time playing
This is still the most annoying feature of Live, well should I say missing feature
Im tracking atm...all live played and on certain beats of the bar, the beat is played slightly early as part of the micro groove
BTW this has nothing to do with clip quantisation etc unless you want to be a robot or ...

Virtual Sound Check: Mono channel select in outputs
My error: Please ignore
For some reason the on buttons in the config for mono were turned off despite me particularly selecting such a basic function.
Sorry...maybe it helps someone else to double check!

Re: How do I make notes on a song & track?
Im a bit late
I simply want project/track related info. The clip info is neat but, as in other daws, sometimes you need to simply recall eg a track setup
Mic - TLM103
Pre - Sebatron VMP
Pre settings
Pad:0
Eq: Bright
Low Cut: None
Gain: 3.5
Cables - Vovox

Re: Tempo mapping to recorded material
In Arrangement, select your clip, and in its clip properties panel ("detailed clip view") there's a button labeled "Follow". Click it and it will turned to "Lead" (it needs to have Warp enabled).
Brilliant!
Will check it out
BTW I ended up checking it out; thanks.
I enabled the clip in ...

Re: MIDI QUANTIZE: Any features like Cubase
I believe you are talking about "window".
Ableton doesn't have anything like that. You can check if M4l have some more advanced quantize midi effects but I haven't heard of any device.
Yeah that kind of thing...thanks for the reply...ah well...just do it over in cubase I guess
Yeah ...

Im wondering...does no one else struggle with this???

And by the way I program python script for oem chinese mfg for Live hardware...and still ask myself why I invested so much of my life doing what I thought was fun and lost years not doing music...it was hard to NOT write a serious response

Have been doing this a long
Make the decision and save a lot of time...
Do you
A. want to make music
B. Be a hardware designer
Trust me, you can do anything but only do one thing....really well
Buy a push or use a controller on a second small touch screen with a generic controller and be done ...

MIDI Effects/Velocity
Thanks
Ah RT?M!!!
makes me realise how diff the daws are
Most things are are 2 tier in cubase but templated workflow in Live
Both are good but 36 years on cubase makes it hard to remember almost anything not first tier is 3rd tier in live :)
Would actually be nice to ...
