Well I just tested that and it works the way I would expect it to - the sound is not cut off instantly by choke, it triggers the release phase of the envelope. Drumsynth doesn't have release. I also tested the M4L belly full preset and it also works as expected and does have release.
Has anyone ...

Re: Can you choke Drumsynth?
It wouldn't be note length - release time determines what happens when you let off a sustained note. I tried with another synth and choke works. This would seem to confirm that the problem is no support for note off on drumsynth.

Can you choke Drumsynth?
I finally made the move to 9 and am loving the Drumsynth plugins. I'm familiar with choke groups on other machines but have never used it in Ableton. So I tried to do that and it's not working.

Re: Installing / finding Max for live?
Well I've wasted far too much time on this so let me try to say it a simpler way.
The regular old Ableton Live 8 is fully functional for 30 days before requiring you to buy a license. The Max demo is also fully functional for 30 days -- and happens to include the files you need to run Max for Live ...

Common sense improvement of Beat Time Ruler
1 - 2 - 4 - 8 - 16 - 32 - 64 - 128 - 256.... pretty simple stuff you would think. (Intuitive for musicians and hacks.)
But Live complicates it with numbers like 1 - 3 - 5 - 9 - 17 - 33 - 65 - 129. I always have to do the extra step in my head of subtracting 1. In other words, I don't care that I'm ...

take a snapshot of fx parameters.
this would be distinct from saving a patch in the library. like, when you're messing around with a sound and you say hellz yea, oh now how do i get back to my normal setting, and how do i get back to this right here.

All design programs have it...
SHIFT+move the selected item: it only moves left and right (OR up and down). Comes in awful handy when you're trying to organize a bunch of small objects in narrow rows.
Is there any particular reason why you're not implementing this?

Update procedure
I just installed the 8.2 update (from 8.1.3). Now I have two Live folders on my disk. Can I uninstall the old version without consequence? Was I supposed to do that before I installed 8.2? I would think the proper update procedure should be given on the same page that I downloaded the update from.
