Installing / finding Max for live?

Post by adamdegraff » Thu Oct 25, 2012 6:57 am

I just downloaded and installed Max for Live TRIAL version. But I'm not seeing it in Ableton. I reauthorized ableton and still, I don't see Max for live devices or effects or instruments like it says I should. What'd I do wrong? I DO have MfL on my computer. It was properly unpacked and installed as far as I can tell. Just isn't showing up in Ableton browser. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Well I've wasted far too much time on this so let me try to say it a simpler way.

The regular old Ableton Live 8 is fully functional for 30 days before requiring you to buy a license. The Max demo is also fully functional for 30 days -- and happens to include the files you need to run Max for Live regardless of whether you use Max.

There is no Max for Live demo. There is only Ableton's save-crippled "demo" mode, which I suppose would be fully functional including Max for Live if you were within the 30 day "fully functional demo" part.

It doesn't look like there's actually a way to buy a Max for Live authorization for Live anymore. Just tried and I'm getting "You need a Live license to buy this product." I assume it's referring to a Live 9 license.

Live 9 make everything better..
