Depends on what you need the ports for.
There onlyproblematic is you need to power a device from them. If you do I'd recommend getting a powered firewire hub.

But here's the kicker. If you buy a Mac, you WILL be more likely to spend time focusing on your creativity. Use what you want! But don't be stupid! Look at OS X and you will notice that every update for the OS X is getting better and better! Windows can't beat that fact! In not even a year OS X will be the No. 1 system worldwide for making music that's for sure! And no "Longhorn" can change that ...
