Brief description: I'm using the Session Record button and want to record separate song sections into separate clips, but recordings keep going into the first recorded clip, even if I select other clips.
I've got a Keith McMillen 12 Step mapped to launch 10 scenes and the Session Record button ...

Mixing Lessons and Comparisons
Hey all,
Would you all consider Spotify reasonable to compare mixes to...especially if our tunes are to end up online? It's really convenient and very easy to call up lots of different things for comparisons. I've not made it a regular habit to do this and I like it so far. I've got nothing on the ...

Re: Enough Performance with a MacBook Pro???
FWIW, my computer in my signature is doing nicely. My projects are not large, but I'm very happy so far. I'm at about 7 ms round trip latency in Live 9 with a Focusrite 18i8 USB 2. So far I'm using only vst's and just my internal drive.

Re: A lot of pros have jumped to Ableton from Logic
I really like the Session View for writing...it works really, really well for me. I've been a Sonar user for a long time and I still have it of course and will still use it I'm sure, but there are some thing I miss, which is not surprising. A DAW takes a little time to learn.

SSD Notebook Question
Hey all,
I have a MacBook Pro with a 160 GB drive. The machine is very well kept, has a Live 9 on it, plus an appreciable amount of sample libraries (for what I use), and I'm still only using less than half of the drive. I know the general consensus is to have the OS drive, then sample drives, and ...

Loudness Standards
Hey all,
Do any of you all use the K system, DR, or anything like that to determine how loud is loud enough for your mixes? I barely know what I'm bringing up here but figured I'd ask anyway.

Thanks,

Frustrated!
Hi guys,
I guess we all do this at some point, so i suppose I'm just venting. I'm still in the process of learning Live 9, but I've been using Sonar for a long time. In either case, it's just frustrating to hop over to SoundCloud and hear mixes that to my ears blast mine out of the water. I'm ...

Re: Mastering? HELP
Man...your Production Guides page is really helpful. I had a friend tell me years ago that the goal of the mix should be very close to the end result and I've gotten WAY off track from that. Your willingness to share that information is much appreciated. Start simpler, try this:

Wow man...that sounds really nice. I was going to ask you earlier today for some tracks that make good references...something to aim for. That fits the bill.

Re: Learning Live Live
Thanks again for the listen guys. This was a headphones only and yes the bass line is pretty much a sine wave. I'm still getting familiar with the sounds at my disposal on 9 Standard. I've use Sonar as well, so this workflow is new to me, but I absolutely love it.
