Hi all,

There were a few posts on this topic a few years ago and i was wondering if things have changed in Live 10.1.

I want to be able to click the cursor anywhere in the midi editor and have play back start from there, just like in the Arrange window.

I'm aware about Shift-Space bar or Shift ...

I'm trying to:

1- Transpose several midi clips at once
2- Edit several midi clips at once (for example lengthen the tail). In arrange view, Live 10 let you see several midi tracks at once but only edit the midi contained in one track at the time

I'm working in arrangement window and would like to manually assign CC1 automation to a track. I figure out how to do it within a clip but not on a track in arrangement.

You can change the point from where a clip starts playing when it is triggered, so create different parts of each song as separate clips/scenes (with different starting points) and then trigger them whenever you want.

I'm aware of the clip start but this method will take forever.

For example, i ...

I want to use backing tracks with by band live with the options of repeating different parts of the song. For example repeating the chorus during a guitar solo.

If i use arrangement view but, i can easily set up locator point and repeat them at will but with this method, i can only have one song ...

1- Normally one has to go all the way up to the ruler to get the magnifying glass for zooming. Is the a shortcut or key press that will give you the magnifying glasses no matter where you are in the sample editor ?

2- How can i start playback from my selection in the sample editor ?

1- In order to split several clips at once such as multitrack drums, i place the arrangement insert marker on one of the track then shift-down or up arrow to include the rest of my multitrack then split.

Is there a better/quicker way of splitting multi clips ?

I want to use Live with Protools via Rewire. Unfortunately as a rewire slave, Live won't let me use Push...is there a way around this ?? (other than the obvious, by making PT the rewire slave)

I use a maxed out 27'' iMac and two new MacPro (6 and 12 cores) for writing music, mixing features and TV and online editing/finishing. There's no comparison really, The MacPro is just way faster, but keep in mind, we're comparing machines that cost 2 or 3 x the price of an iMac.

Audio is quite different... A DAW has to interface with hundreds of different pieces of equipment... audio interfaces, mixers, midi controllers, hardware synths and effects, etc... in realtime, and with things like midi sync. Then there are all the complex plugins and huge disk streaming sample ...
