A lot of people (myself included) have been suggesting this feature since Live 1.0, but the folks at Ableton have yet to implement it.

So, I'm guessing, either they feel it would appeal to too small a subset of users to make it worth the development resources or they want to implement it and haven ...

I tried creating symbolic links and aliases of audio files to see if Live would load them, and neither worked.

Aliases don't even show up in the file browser, and symbolic links do show up but load as blank audio files (presumably since Live could find no actual audio data in the link file.)

i love this idea! i suggested the very same thing ages ago, i'm glad i'm not the only one.

i've asked for this exact feature myself on a couple of occasions in the past, and was met with a pretty apathetic response. i think we might be among a small group of people that want this. :(

that or ableton is planning it for a future release and is just keeping silent until it's ready, to keep ...

One feature I'd love to see added to Live would be nested loops (loops within loops).

one thing i would love to see in live is the ability to save multiple .asd files for a single loop.

no, it doesn't. you can attach more than one mouse but they'll all be controlling the same cursor. which can make for a fun prank, but is pretty confusing and annoying otherwsie.
