Re: Levels, mixing and headroom?

Thanks for the responses people, definitely helped clear some things up! :D

Levels, mixing and headroom?

Hi,

I am confused about proper mixing techniques in relation to volume levels and headroom and I was hoping I could get some clarification/advice on the matter.

Freezing and white screen when loading up

Ok here's the problem.

Whenever I start live the little live loading screen will pop up but after like a second or two it will turn completely white and stop responding. The program does load after about another 30 seconds but I find this really annoying. It also freezes like this when switching ...

I use side chaining in Live 7, mostly for basslines and melodies...

I think that's it's slightly different in 6 but still pretty easy.
I'm pretty sure the guy in this tutorial is using live 6

Rob Mikrob,
I bet those drum pads are perfect for that kind of music!
How sensitive are they though? I have some pads on my AKAI MPK49 and you have to really push them in... I think I have to turn the sensitivity up or something.

You've been producing since 2000! Oh my god, keep it up!
Hows that ...

So only a sawtooth? And then some effects? I tried only a sawtooth and it's not really that sick bass sound. I guess it obviously wont be that easy...
Well I'll keep trying thanks...

Famous Electro House Bass

I just purchased Live 7 (was working with the demo for a long time...)
and I was wondering how to get that famous electro house bass.
Think of Benassi, Global Deejays, Wolfgang Gartner, Swen Weber, Deadmau5, etc
That dark gritty bassline. I know that it's easily possible in Live and I've seen ...
