Freezing and white screen when loading up

Ok here's the problem.

Whenever I start live the little live loading screen will pop up but after like a second or two it will turn completely white and stop responding. The program does load after about another 30 seconds but I find this really annoying. It also freezes like this when switching between projects the whole screen turns white and stops responding. Here are the details.

Running Live 7.0.3 but I had the same problem with the Live 8 Suite Demo so I didn't think it's a software issue problem.

HP Pavillion dv9500 notebook PC
Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit
Intel Core 2 Duo T5250 @ 1.50 GHz
2 GB RAM

I do use an external sound card but even without it the same thing happens...

Any help is much appreciated I would love to get this problem sorted out...
