Re: "There is not enough memory available." DRIVES ME CRAZY WTF?

I have a 3 month old Macbook Pro running OSX10.5 w 4gb of ram and I get that issue ALL THE TIME. I lose my progress on so many damn tracks because of it. Tech support hasn't helped at all. It happens in different sets, some with many clips, some with only a handful. It happens when I run exclusively ...

Re: Live crashes when loading set

Hi DJWiky, did you find any solution to this? I have a dj set that keeps crashing and it sounds similar to your issue. I even got a brand new macbook pro and it still happens! Ableton support tried to help but all they really suggested was trashing the preference files. Ugh. If you have any ...

Re:

The Beat Repeat is an effect that works with a buffer.
Your "reset", doesn't reset the beat repeat. It just being set to different setting. Grid and Interval from what I can see.

What you need to do is place the Beat Repeat in an audio effect rack and create a second chain that contains the dry ...

sidechaining

A big part of making the kick as punchy as possible is compressing the entire track minus the kick, and sidechaining that comp to the kick. That way, every time the kick hits the rest of the track lowers in volume. This allows you to turn the kick up way louder without clipping than you would be ...

mpd all the way!

I've had a Padkontrol for years and recently bought an MPD24. I have to say, I like the MPD WAY better. It's so much more rugged, and the faders/knobs are really handy. I personally don't see the point to the light up pads on the Korg. Also, the x/y pad is cool but realistically that's nothing you ...

give it some time, its an awesome live sampling tool. for syncing, you can sample onto any key/pad by drawing in notes in a midi clip, or by putting a Arpeggiator device in front of it to trigger the sampling in sync, etc.
but yea, beat lookup will do the job nicely too. really depends what you're ...

on the other hand, so is beat lookup. really depends what you're trying to do.

muxer's instant sampler
www.muxer.nl
Instantsampler is cool but not really what I had in mind. It's not synched to the beat at all and you have to manually assign each key.

I looked into that monome effect mentioned a few responses ago but it's looking way more involved than I had in mind ...

You might find that Molar vsti is what you're looking for. Although designed around the monome platform, it accepts all manner of midi input control, and is a really powerful sampler, slicer and midi sequencer. It's awesome. Does take some digging through the forums to grasp though...

Beatslicer plugin that takes live input, is midi triggered?

I've been looking for a plugin (osx based) that does this but can't find it anywhere:

A plugin that can take live audio input from a track, has a two bar buffer (for example), splits those 2 bars into 32 16th notes, and each one of those slices can be triggered by midi

The closest thing I've used ...

TouchOSC iPhone Multifaders - Does anyone actually use these

I just started using TouchOSC for iPhone and I'm really loving it. It's just like a portable Lemur that costs $4! Can't beat it.

I'm finding a lot of good uses for all the included template layouts. The one thing I can't find a use for is the multifaders - like when there's a bank of around 30 ...

Midipipe Scripts ?? - script for midi ch +1 on keypress

I think it would be really helpful to have a midipipe script to:
increase the midi channel by 1 every time i touch a key, and
decrease it by 1 when touching another key.

It would help for midi mapping a controller to work on a different track for each channel, among a million other uses. It ...

You can select multiple chains by holding shift but you can't drag them together to other notes. If you drag the selected chains to another pad it only moves one of the chains

in Drum Rack - how do you move multiple pads at once?

Lets say I have one drum rack with all my drum kit sounds. Then I take an audio clip and I say 'slice to midi'. It makes a new drum rack track. Now I want to combine the clips in both drum racks into one drum rack, so I'm only dealing with one drum rack. I can move a pad one at a time, but this ...
