is it just me or women talking in music products jut sounds annoying?

That's the default OSX app to open any audio file. Is there another app you want to use? If you right click on the file and choose "Get Info", you'll see a field for selecting what app you want ot use to open those types of files (wav, mp3, etc). Choose a new one, and then check the box to apply it ...

I am considering these monitors, they seem to have got good reviews that I have read. Does anyone on here own a pair of them, if so, what do you think?

I love them..... I have the 5" though. I use them as second set of monitors, being Genelec 8040 my main set..... hands down excellent ...

I wonder if they'll finish up the 4000 now? Personally, I can't wait to get my R&B groove on with this:

The MPC-5000 looks like a copy of the Roland MV in a way, but this MPC seems much more open to electronic musicians , they have Arp and Synth built in, and even the video demo shows a techno tune, i have never seen a demo ...

But DUENDE MINI seems interesting too..

When I was shopping for monitors I wanted to upgrade mackies 624, I tried a bunch, Adam, KRK, Genelec, Dynaudio, etc.
I was between the Genelec 8030 and the Dynaudio BM5. I have to say the Dynaudio sounded fantastic...clear winners in that price range, but ...

Logic Pro 8 is:
"The most feature packed, plugin filled, capable DAW on the Mac market... that doesn't work."

I've had it since it was released, and it's great, WHEN IT WORKS!!
