i'm another guy that wouldnt have ever bought ableton if he didnt pirate it first for a few months. you can fuck off.

i spoke to a rep a few weeks ago, and he said they would still have academic versions

BUT!

no more academic upgrades...

for example if you buy 8 academic, when 9 comes out if you want to upgrade you'll have to buy 9 at the full academic price.

WHICH sucks

my friend was telling me about the windows version....they claim its easier on the eyes too. if i remember right.

So I registered Live 7 on December 7th. Am I going to get Live 8 for free? I'm having trouble finding a conclusive answer on the site...if anyone knows it would probably save me some peace of mind until Monday when the customer care office opens again.

I'm pretty new to Ableton and want to buy it, BUT,

I'm wondering if there's some kind of precedent with new Live versions - it's been about a year since 7 came out, right? I know this is impossible to know for sure, but if I buy 7 now, what are the chances that in a few weeks Ableton announces Live ...
