Re: ultralite mk3 in standalone?
oh i checked out Cuemix, and i think i sorted it out thanks. So would I be correct in saying that Cuemix operates separately from Live, or any other DAW ? Meaning that they are totally independant of each other? I thought there would be some kind of VST wrapper or something for it. I don't own an U...

Re: So just to confirm.....
I have been searching and experimenting/flicking through the manual, but cant find any information on this, so I guess its not possible. I presume that the Arrangement Transport Postion can not be controlled by midi/assigned?? This right? If so, I have a feature request waiting for that sub-forum. ...

Re: Bar/club sound system set up question
It depends of the equipment and the quality of the pre and power amplifier of course, but in general it is better to keep the low level signal at a decent level (which usually have the longest cables) and let the analog pre(if there is any)/post circuit (which usually have higher quality than DJ mix...

Re: Sync Ableton Library
I run my ableton live library from my afp server at home, so I use the same library for all computers, works great :) However I am using gigabit network so for wireless use maybe it's too slow if you load a lot of wav/aif. For syncing to backups and to a 2.5" drive for DJ use I use carbon copy ...

Re: Bar/club sound system set up question
Running the amp on max would risk both the ears of the people in the club and the speakers if the DJ does any mistake with the levels during the gig. Signal wise it's better to go on full with the low level signal from the mixer from to the PA as well, which leads to lower noise floor.

Re: Chain select in audio rack with midi note?
Ok, I got it, holding down command when holding down the midi note range (in midi map mode) on the keyboard did the trick

Chain select in audio rack with midi note?
Has been a while since I was trixing around with routings in Live, not in shape yet ;) Have been trying to get midi notes to steer my chain selector in an effect rack but no luck so far, any ideas? It seems to me that it only accepts cc messages, any way to 'convert' midi note velocity to cc within ...

Re: Best sub for checking tunes before playing live
Actually it's very good with a calibrated sub setup ;) , otherwise you won't hear what you're doing in the lowest bass region. However, most of the subs that are for sale are not really good, they often are too small with too high Q values, unable to provide tight bass and with poor linearity. But i...

Re: Max4Live released soon? New video uploaded by AbletonInc
1 to the power of 16 would be only 1 bit of information ;) 16 bit audio has 2 to the power of 16 discrete levels which are translated to a certain voltage (in the dac) 44100 times per second for ordinary audio and this is done for every channel, i.e. every channel need it's own dac. It is only misle...

Re: I've gotta sound off on the whole Live - MAC vs. PC thing...
I did the performance test now as well in snow leo, 25% cpu load in ableton live 8.04 (tested both 32 and 64 bit kernel, pretty much the same result). Mac spec is 2.4 Ghz Quad and 8 GB Ram.

Re: I've gotta sound off on the whole Live - MAC vs. PC thing...
haha, this never ends... however I must say that live 8 is great in snow leopard. Have been running firewire audio in the 64 bit kernel just for fun, and the microkontrol as well, only the monome that doesn't work in 64 bit yet. In pure technical terms I must say that snow leopard is far ahead any o...

When is the planned the release for MAX for Live and will it be included in the Live suite? Is there any beta version to test before it comes out?
