Re: Freezing tracks with Kontakt does not reduce system usage

Hi, and thanks for the response. Yes I do mean RAM. I am flattening them and saving versions of the project that are not flattened so I can change them later. What I don't get is why Freezing them doesn't reduce RAM usage, but Flattening them does. Don't both processes effectively turn off the ...

Freezing tracks with Kontakt does not reduce RAM use

Hello, this is an Ableton Live and Kontakt question.

When I freeze tracks that have Kontakt on them there is no reduction in system usage (RAM). Any other device I use on a track and then freeze the track, there is a measurable reduction in system usage (basing this on the os x activity moniter ...

Freezing tracks with Kontakt does not reduce Reduce RAM use

Hello, this is an Ableton Live and Kontakt question.

I have been using a lot of Kontakt instruments in my productions. When I freeze tracks that have Kontakt on them there is no reduction in system usage (RAM). Any other device I use on a track and then freeze the track, there is a measurable ...

Re: No sound from sampler(soundfont)

I had this problem today. I found that re-naming the folder the files where in seemed to fix it, there where dashes and underscore marks in the sample containing folder and removing them fixed the playback issue.

Re: How can I permanently map Macro Controls

i think you should be able to set up an instrument rack with your mapping in an otherwise blank session and then save that as your default template under preferences/file/save current set as default.

Re: Upgrade troubles, must i re-install everything?

Stuff in the library comes through just fine. It's the various presets I have made and or downloaded from various sites, presets for operator, additional drum and instrument racks, etc....

I'm on Mac Os X 10.5 on one computer, 10.4 on my other one.

Upgrade troubles, must i re-install everything?

I've noticed that when I go from one version of live to another i have to re-install all my instrument racks and 3rd party packs...even when going from say 8.08 to 8.09. Is there any way around this?

Re: recording macro automation into a clip?

the "automation" in clips is actually "modulation" and relative to the actually set value of the parameter. If the clip-envelope is a going up and down 100% and the macro-knob is set to 0 then there will be no effect at all. Turn the macro knob up to 100% and see how the same clip envelope is ...

Re: recording macro automation into a clip?

i see, i did this and it creates an audio file that does lock in all the changes but of course i can't edit the envelope anymore at this point. effective but inflexible, i don't want to lock in my changed in a permanent way at this point, is there any way to simply record real time automation into a ...

Re: recording macro automation into a clip?

I tried what you suggested but it did not work. I recorded into the arrange page, moved the macro control in real time, and could see and hear that automation in the arrange page, but when i dragged the selection with the automation i liked back into a new clip the new clip did not have the ...

is it possible to record real time automation of a macro control into a clip that is in the session view? how can i accomplish this? for instance, i have the filter of "analog" mapped to macro 1. i'm still in the early stage of composition so i don't want to commit anything to the arrange view yet ...

Warping Re-Imported Stems Ruins Playback Quality?

Hi, I recorded some vocals into a live clip, picked my favorite 8 bars sections and lined them up into a few clips decending on a track. All these clips are set to Warp but since I havn't changed the tempo they sound completely natural and unaffected.

I rendered the vocal track and sent it into ...
