Last night I tried something new in Mac Os 9 Live (1.5, 1.5.2) with bad
results. I recorded very long audio streams (10 minutes or more) and eventually got running out of memory messages. I thought everything would stream directly to disk. I wasn't able to stop recording and recover without killing ...

I should point out that MIDI comes direct to the softsynth before going into Ableton, so you don't get any timing quantization that way. Maybe there is a way to send midi out from Ableton via IAC, I haven't tried it.

On the mac you can use Max/MSP runtime output to Rewire and uglyVSTi
free apps to do this. Start Max first, then uglyVST, load absynth, start Live.
