Multiple tempos within a live set

Post by albacore » Sun Jul 14, 2002 12:21 am

It would be great if a sample or group of samples(scene) within a live set could have a unique tempo assigned to them. I have songs with tempo changes on certain sections of the song. If you could assign a given tempo to an individual sample which could override the master tempo setting, this could be achieved. For example, scene A could be at 160bpm and scene B could be 130bpm. If there is already a way to do this, please let me know.

I'm a new user and my first project is a theater piece where every scene corresponds to a scene in the play (sometimes several ableton scenes, adding or removing layers). If I could somehow set a tempo change
to take place when a scene is activated it would be lovely.

This could be added as part of some general control actions such as was suggested in another post. The early Dr. T's keyboard controlled sequencer (KCS) from the 80s Atari/Amiga/PC days had generalized control sequences you could type in a small page and bind to a key.
